Tried reading it at bedtime aged twenty and almost frit myself to death.

The new Odyssey film reminds me the Western media usually make movies about antiquity from the perspective of Western culture. The similar movie about Troy/Wilusa ignored their being a vassal/allied state of the Hittites, Anatolian culture, their town was outside their fortified citidel, etc.

For the record, I couldn’t care less about the #Odyssey casting.
I’m a classicist. My actual degree is in Classics.
I’m not watching this because I can get pedantically mad about history & lit at home for free.
Y’all can take up a collection & hire me to get mad in public, but otherwise I’m good.

"The Odyssey: An Illustrated Guide" - love the card game -esk introductions and little bits of additional info at the end of the chapters so far!
