Went to The #Odyssey last night. Had a great time seeing an ambitious movie that largely pays off on what it's trying to do. Worth seeing.

On the fantastic @standardebooks website – which takes public domain books from Project Gutenberg and reformats them from pretty bad files actually (sorry, Gutenberg, I love you, but you know it's true) into fantastic high quality ebooks – The Condition of the Working Class in England by Friedrich Engels is a more popular download than Dracula and Moby Dick!
Also, the ongoing The Odyssey fever has not skyrocket the book to the top

Kävinpä minäkin katsomassa The Odysseyn 🎬
Oli kyllä 5/5 elokuvakokemus. Nolanin tulkinta oli varsin uskollinen alkuperäiselle tarinalle mutta toi siihen myös sopivasti omaa sormenjälkeä, ml. koskettavan ja valitettavan ajankohtaisen teeman Troijan sodasta.
Leffan inspiroimana aloin myös paikata aukkoa yleissivistyksessä ja lukea Odysseiaa. Valitsin Pentti Saarikosken suomennoksen 70-luvulta, koska se oli helposti saatavilla ja homeerinen kreikka ei ainakaan vielä ole minulla hallussa 😁

So we just got in from seeing the #Odyssey and it was very good. It a was very Nolan #movie (iykyk), and the audio was quite awful (I blame my local #cinema but let me know if you have similar issues) -- the highs were *VERY* loud to the point of pain, and the lows were not that present.
Acting? Very good. Oppenheimer was better.
Cinematography? Top notch.
Story? Decently told, out of order, of course.
Overall? Recommend, but does not need #IMAX. Perfectly good in AVX visually.
Dune is better. -

The soundtrack is a masterpiece. So well balanced. Always there but almost never in the center of attention.
The IMAX sound mix for the cave scene almost destroyed my ears though.
