After watching the Odyssey I thought about all the characters and after going through every character it was Sinon that carried most of the weight in setting the tone and the weight despite only appearing in a few shots.

Just saw The Odyssey in the theater. It was a really good movie. As someone who usually doesn’t like Christopher Nolan, I think this was the perfect tale for him to tackle: everyone already knows the story & characters, so it’s fine if the movie is just vibes & visuals. #odyssey

I’m going to jump on the #Odyssey bandwagon (even though I might never see the movie…)
This handsome moth is called “Antheraea polyphemus” and is named for Polyphemus, the Cyclops from Homer’s Odyssey. It’s all about the eyes!
(My son took the photo yesterday outside of his workplace in central Iowa.)

Bought Homer’s Odyssey (cheaply) in Germany in 2019 on a GIMP meetup. Maybe it’s a good time to post some scans :-) The bookseller turned quite hostile when i mentioned the Web, said the Web was putting him out of business.

wow, went to the theater this afternoon to watch the odyssey. what a stunningly bad bit of work. poor aesthetic & sound, bad pacing, bad casting, bad writing, but at least it was long and made a passing nod or two in the general direction of some of the primary themes.
the return from a couple years back did so much more with the material and medium.
