  4. In those moments I am not a business owner. Not an immigrant navigating life in a country that still surprises me sometimes. Not an adult with responsibilities and deadlines and a never-ending list.

I am just his daughter. And everything is okay because he is there.

I think about how many of us are walking around carrying so much - and how rare and precious it is to have even one person in this world whose presence gives you permission to put it down for a minute.

Not everyone has that. And those of us who do don't always stop to notice it.

As Shabbat enters, I'm thinking of those people. The ones who still make us feel like kids. The ones whose presence reminds us that we don't have to be strong every single minute.

If you have that person - tell them what they give you.

  9. In Israel, when the siren sounds on Yom Hashoah - Holocaust remembrance day - everything stops. Cars on the highway pull over. People stand in the middle of the street. Nobody runs. Nobody moves. You stand. You face it. You remember together.

Not all sirens in Israel mean run. Some sirens mean stop, remember, and never forget.

As Shabbat comes in and we light the candles tonight, I am thinking of them.

The ones who didn't make it. The ones who survived and carried the weight of both. And the one survivor who walked into that room this week and put a face, a voice, a heartbeat to the Holocaust. We are running out of time to be in the same room as it.

It is on the next generations now. Not only the descendants of survivors. All of us.

We light the candles. We tell the stories. We make sure Never Again means Never Again.

  11. We’re good at the noise. The planning, the preparing, the being “on.” We’re good at busyness and momentum.

But the quiet after? That’s when the real feelings show up.

That’s when you process what actually happened - not what you were trying to make happen, but what actually happened.

And most of us run from it.

We scroll. Plan the next thing. Turn on the TV. Create new noise.

Because the quiet feels dangerous. Lonely. Too much.

    But here’s what I’ve learned:
The quiet after is where the truth lives.

It’s where you feel what you actually felt - not what you were supposed to feel, but what you actually felt.

The noise protects you from knowing. The quiet reveals.

Sometimes it reveals disappointment, grief, exhaustion. Sometimes gratitude you didn’t have time to feel. Pride in what you did. Clarity about what matters.

The quiet doesn’t just reveal hard things. It reveals true things.

And as Passover approaches, I wish each of you the blessings it celebrates—freedom, renewal, and hope.

This week, perhaps more than ever, as conflict continues in the Middle East, my heart longs for a Shabbat filled with lasting peace for Israel, for the region, and for the world.

Wishing all of you a peaceful and meaningful Shabbat.

  13. This week we prepare for Passover—the holiday of freedom.

And in Israel, between cleaning and shopping, people are running to shelters. Missiles fall. And still—they set the table.

How do you celebrate freedom under threat?
The same way our ancestors did.

    You celebrate anyway.
Because not celebrating is letting hate win.

    Passover isn’t just history—it’s now.
Every generation faces a new Egypt.
And every generation tells the story anyway.

This is what resilience looks like.

  15. You know yourself better than anyone.

Not always perfectly—but more than anyone else ever could.

Still, we second-guess. We look outside. We trade our knowing for someone else’s opinion.

    And sometimes that helps.
But sometimes… we abandon what we already felt was right.

    So pause.

    Before asking anyone else—ask yourself:

What do I already know? What do I feel?

    Listen to that quiet voice.
    It’s been there all along.

    Trust it.

  16. This week I lived four seasons in one day.

    Morning was winter.

I was doing something for the first time and my body went straight into stress mode. Migraine. Physically ill. Turns out my system took it more seriously than I realized.

Then it ended. And it went perfectly.

    Suddenly it was spring.

    Euphoria. “I did it!”

So I made plans based entirely on that high.

    Then summer hit.

Israeli hot. Wrong place. Wrong fit. I kept thinking: why am I here?

All I wanted was to go home.

    Eventually I did.

    And autumn arrived.

Calm. Quiet. My house. My guy. My puppy.

Just like that I was okay again.

    Four emotional seasons. One day.

My first thought was: what’s wrong with me?

    Then I realized something.

None of those moods were wrong.

    Winter nerves: this matters.
    Spring euphoria: celebrate.
    Summer discomfort: not your place.
    Autumn calm: this is home.

    Moods aren’t mistakes.

    They’re information.

You’re allowed to move through four seasons in a single day.

    Let them teach you.

  18. This week the news got louder. The headlines got heavier. The fear got sharper.
The noise about war, about Iran, about what might happen next - it's everywhere.
And I felt it. The tightness in my chest. The anxiety about things that haven't happened yet.
But then I remembered: You get to decide what you think about. And when. And how much time you give it.
Even when the voices outside get louder, you still get to choose where you put your attention.
So I decided to resist the headlines for a while.
I went to Instagram pages that share only good news. And I found stories of kindness everywhere.

    Resilience. Communication. Endurance.
All happening now. While we worry about what's next.
I'm not saying ignore the news. I'm saying: You get to choose what you listen to. And for how long.
You get to decide if this Shabbat is only about fear - or also about kindness and the internal news of your heart.
Because that's the news that matters most.

  21. Here's what people don't talk about in the "I love you" cards:
    People change. Always.
The friend you had 10 years ago isn't the same person today. Your family aren't who they were. You're not who you were.

Love isn't about finding the right person and holding on.

It's about choosing them again. And again. As they become someone new. As you become someone new.
Not all love survives that. And that's okay.

But the ones that do? They're deeper. Richer.
Because you've had to re-learn each other. Re-choose each other. Re-build the connection.

That's the work. I'd rather do that work a thousand times than stay stagnant.
    Love is movement. Growth. Evolution.

Love is saying: I see you changing. I'm changing too. Let's figure this out together.
    It's messy. Uncomfortable. Real.

And better than the fairy tale where nothing changes.
Love doesn't last by staying the same. It lasts by surviving change.
    Together.

  23. This week I met six women I’d never met before — all of us new, all of us looking for real friendship.

What struck me wasn’t the awkwardness.
It was the courage to say out loud: I need friends.

    Needing connection isn’t weakness.
Going out to find it is caring for your soul.

    Friendship isn’t optional.
    It’s essential.

If you’re feeling lonely, you’re not broken — you’re human.
And honoring that need is an act of strength.

  25. You don’t need to earn rest.
You deserve it because you’re human.

But rest and discipline are not the same thing.

Self-care should never replace the time meant for building the life you want.
Discipline is uncomfortable — but it’s how real growth happens.

    Shabbat reminds us:
    Rest is sacred.
    So is the work.

  26. This week we enter Shvat (שְׁבָט / sh-vat).

    On the surface, nothing changes.
    Winter remains. Trees look bare.

But this is when the sap begins to rise.

Not because things are blooming —
but because the system is ready.

What looks dormant has been preparing.

    Shvat reminds us:
Growth doesn’t begin when things look alive.
It begins when foundations are built correctly.

If something feels clearer this month —
    an idea, a direction, a decision —
    that’s readiness.

This isn’t a month to bloom.
It’s a month to prepare well.

  36. This Hanukkah, I’m lighting candles with open eyes.

Jewish culture is built on light, goodness, and repairing the world:
    Tikun Olam. Peace. Love. Light.

But every Jewish person alive today exists because our ancestors survived persecution.
    Every generation. Every place.

Light alone didn’t keep us alive.

Peace is possible because someone stands in the shadows to protect it.

    I served in the IDF.
My husband served as a police sergeant in the USA.
Not by preference — by necessity.

Because of people like those who serve, I get to teach, build, and spread light.

    We need both:
    Those who spread light
    And those who protect it.

    This Hanukkah, I honor both.

  41. Three times I tried. Three times I failed. And now I finally see why—beautiful things reveal themselves in their own slow, inconsiderate time.

    כָּל הַדְּבָרִים הַיָּפִים בֶּאֱמֶת מִתְגַּלִּים בִּזְמַנָּם הָאִטִּי, הַבִּלְתִּי מִתְחַשֵּׁב
All the truly beautiful things reveal themselves in their own time.

If you’re on attempt two, three, or ten—don’t give up. It’s not failure. It’s gathering.

And when it finally comes together? You’ll see why it took this long.

    Shabbat Shalom 💙

  42. Yesterday we celebrated Thanksgiving with my husband's family.

There's something powerful about speaking gratitude, not just feeling it.

Saying out loud what you're thankful for - this shouldn't happen once a year at most.

I've watched probably most of the interviews with hostages who returned from captivity.

And there's a pattern that repeats itself across every circumstance, age, gender, or story.

They all say the thing they still can't believe they get to do is

    Choose.

Choose to sit here and not there.

Choose to walk to the window.

    Choose their own words.

    Choose when to sleep.

    Choose what to eat.

The freedom to choose. That's what breaks them open with joy they cannot put into words.

This Shabbat, don't just feel grateful.

    Say it out loud.

And don't just dream about the life you want.

    Choose it.

    Because you can.

    You're already free.

    Shabbat Shalom 💙

  43. ✨ Kislev begins — the month when light grows strongest in the dark.

A tiny flame once burned eight days… because someone chose to light it anyway.

Kislev teaches us this: don’t wait for perfect conditions. Create the light.

So whatever you’ve been postponing — your Hebrew journey, a dream, or something that scares you —
light the first flame. The miracle follows.

Happy Kislev & Shabbat Shalom 💙

  44. ✨Shabbat Shalom, everyone!✨

This morning, on my walk, I came across a quiet pond reflecting the trees and sky so perfectly that it stopped me in my tracks. 🌿💧 It reminded me of the Hebrew word for “reflection”.

Just like the still water mirrors the world around it, Shabbat invites us to pause and reflect — on our week, our actions, and the blessings in our lives. 🕊️

May this Shabbat bring you calm, clarity, and a beautiful reflection of everything good within and around you. 💙
