In those moments I am not a business owner. Not an immigrant navigating life in a country that still surprises me sometimes. Not an adult with responsibilities and deadlines and a never-ending list.
I am just his daughter. And everything is okay because he is there.
I think about how many of us are walking around carrying so much - and how rare and precious it is to have even one person in this world whose presence gives you permission to put it down for a minute.
Not everyone has that. And those of us who do don't always stop to notice it.
As Shabbat enters, I'm thinking of those people. The ones who still make us feel like kids. The ones whose presence reminds us that we don't have to be strong every single minute.
