Calidad/tiempo: ⭐️⭐️Una película que habría estado genial en 1995. Pero coger el texto original de hace 50 años y no cambiar ni una coma a día de hoy queda anticuado. Podría haber funcionado si hubiesen actualizado la historia o hubieran añadido elementos en la producción que lo acercaran al cine moderno.
Así que mi valoración para esta película se queda en: correcta pero anticuada.Película de 2024

I enjoyed the 2024 version of #SalemsLot. I had fun figuring out where things were filmed, having grown up on the #NorthShore of #Massachusetts, and having spent some time in Worcester County as well. I enjoyed it, but I hope the original 3-hour version will be released at some point. The 2-hour one just FLEW by!🦇

I have not been live posting about the movies I have been watching for my #31DaysOfHalloween project but man, this 2024 version of #SalemsLot has me wanting to do so.
I have not been so thoroughly whelmed by a movie in a while.

Heard mixed reviews of Salem's Lot, but decided to check it out for myself.
It may not replace the iconic 70s version for me (modern Straker is fine, but he can't outdo James Mason!), but I thought it was pretty solid - decent mix of familiar elements from that version & book, but sufficient differences too. Also never a bad thing to have Alfre Woodard in there too!

Watched Salem's Lot last night. I fondly recall the original 70s version with David Soul scaring the shit out of me.
Nice reboot - some tweaks, some call-backs to the original, pleasantly surprised at some new twists.
A fun horror movie now on HBO Max.

If I’m going to watch a Salem’s Lot I’ll rewatch the 1979 TV mini series with David Soul. The 1979 version is superb. It was huge in the large gang of people I hung out with.

Side note: I was *almost* 4 when this book came out. I don't think I read it until I was about 11 or 12 (so 1982 or 1983).
#SalemsLot is one of the books that got young me hooked on horror in general and #StephenKing in particular. I ripped through this book, #TheDeadZone #Firestarter #TheShining and all of their contemporary novels/
I'd say my parents should have been paying more attention to what I'm reading ... but I'm pretty sure they introduced me to Stephen King in the first place...
