What they all have in common is that they have not accepted the communist doctrine of class struggle and the red terror in their homelands. That's why they are here now, marching towards their destruction.
Despite the general hopelessness, most of them have kept the sharpness of their intellect, and their statements would have a lot to consider even for world leaders. The decisions of the #Yalta and #Potsdam conferences are the subject of discussion and criticism every day. It is incomprehensible to everyone how the USA and England could make concessions that they can never repair.
How could Roosevelt and Churchill agree to hand over their own prisoners to the Bolsheviks?
Has the Western world learned nothing from the policy of the Soviet Union in the years after the [1917] revolution, when it could allow the Red Power to spread over many countries into the very heart of Europe?
New prisoners are crammed into the cells every day. Russians dressed in English military uniforms are often brought. They are former German prisoners of war, later rested, fed and clothed in England or other countries. They have now been repatriated, received with fanfares and speeches of welcome, and then imprisoned. Soviet martial law prescribes punishment for anyone who surrenders, but that has not moved the British. "

@gimulnautti I do think this war, and the #ruscism, has been an eyeopener as to what happens if we let our #democracy fall into decay. I think a lot of Europeans understand now the importance of standing together. It is an expensive reminder, though.
And we aren’t out of the woods, because there are still, obviously, authoritarian, anti democratic tendencies among certain populistic elements, especially on the far right, both within the #EU and within #NATO, sadly.
But I think you are right. There is a lot of #psychology in this. And that is exactly what the #authoritarians are exploiting.

But the point is they strive to force this crazy sh💩t criminal mentality upon the rest of the world either by violence or by lying and deceiving. And they have been doing it for the past 25 years.
And the worst part is, we’ve let them do it in broad daylight. First Chechnya, then Georgia, then Crimea, then Syria, then the meddling in the U.S. election and Brexit, and I guess that is probably just the tip of the iceberg. When will we learn?
Russia is a menace to the World and should be disarmed, better yesterday than tomorrow.

😱 Haven’t read the book, but the Wikipedia article about Aleksandr Dugin’s “The Foundations of Geopolitics: The Geopolitical Future of Russia” published in 1997 is scary reading. It all starts to make some sort of really f*cked up sense. #Putin seems to be following this book, or at least this ideology, like a script. And there seems to be at least some success, notably when it comes to #disinformation:
"Russia should use its special services within the borders of the United States and Canada to fuel instability and separatism against neoliberal globalist Western hegemony”
And
"Russia should "introduce geopolitical disorder into internal American activity, encouraging all kinds of separatism and ethnic, social and racial conflicts, actively supporting all dissident movements […] thus destabilizing internal political processes in the U.S.”
