I was feeling pretty good that my phone is an ancient #Pixel2XL, then I looked up how long ago that came out and... it was only 3.5 years ago.

Does anyone here know how to test if a USB cord can carry data or not?
I have a USB A to USB C cable plugged in to a USB 2 port, and the phone charges with it, but I don't know if the cable can transfer data or not.
I'm trying to flash @LineageOS to a #Pixel2XL and the desktop OS isn't showing the phone in adb devices, fastboot devices or even lsusb. I have the Android UDEV rules installed.

One of the biggest reasons I could never go back to a stock Android rom is Active Edge (yes. Pixel 2 XL). With the addition of @LineageOS's Active Edge service, I now squeeze my phone to toggle the flashlight.

Ich habe #UbuntuTouch auf meinem #Pixel2XL installiert.
Funktioniert soweit.- #GPS ist ein bisschen langsam.
- Es gibt nur sehr wenige Apps im #OpenStore
- Das OS wurde wohl schon länger nicht aktualisiert
- #Signal / #Axolotl funktioniert nicht
- #XMPP / #ConverseJS meldet sich immer wieder ab
- Akkulaufzeit ist wohl nicht so berauschend
- #CardDav scheints nicht zu geben. Habe jetzt eine VCF importiert
- #PureMaps funktioniert soweit. Muss noch weiter getestet werden.
- #CalDav funktioniert
- Telefonie / SMS funktioniert
- Browser funktioniert
- Kamera funktioniert
- Fingerabdrucksensor funktioniert
- WLAN funktioniert
Mal schauen wie lange ich das drauf lasse. Evtl nur temporär.

@tux ich hatte GrapheneOS mal auf meinem #Pixel2XL installiert.
Funktioniert super. Die Installation ist über den Web Installer sehr einfach.
Apps aus dem Aurora Store können normal installiert werden.
Alternativ gibts auch die Möglichkeit
#Sandboxed #GooglePlayServices zu installieren:

Da das ganze ohne Google läuft, hast du natürlich auch keinen Google Push Dienst. Auch ein Lokalisierungs-Dienst ist nicht installiert. Kann man aber damit leben, finde ich. Updates kommen sehr schnell und häufig. -
