I guess it's impossible to remove Google from Android phones. I have disabled Google, but cannot delete it. And it re-enabled itself later. The only way out of this, I'm thinking, is an alternative operating system for the phone.

Una #noticia triste. #DivestOS ha llegado a su fin, probablemente por no recibir suficientes donaciones ni colaboradores (lo llevaba una sola persona).
De todos estos proyectos, su desarrollador era la persona que me parecía más razonable y transparente de todas. Una verdadera lástima.

#DivestOS hab ich auf Empfehlung von @kuketzblog installiert, bin damit super happy.

@kuketzblog hat mich auch auf die Info hingewiesen, dass es gerade einen Spendenaufruf zur Fortführung des tollen Projekts gibt.

Yes, we have a friend that installed a "#Unity" game on their phone and now they get #ads popup on their phone at random, even after uninstalling the game.

They are thinking about a #factoryReset for the device.

I sense they may be capable of handling a FOSS distro, but there doesn't seem any #FOSS distros for the #ZTE model. Looked at #Lineage, /e/, #Replicant and #DivestOS but none supported the ZTE model they have.

Any ideas much 'app'reciated.

@bluelupo Irgendwie hab ich hier vergessen zu antworten. Ja, hat super geklappt! Mein Gerät läuft seit Monaten vollkommen stabil. Im Grunde hat @caos schon alles wesentliche gesagt, im Grunde ist #DivestOS ein sichereres #LineageOS mit eigenen Anpassungen und Anleihen von #GrapheneOS. Auf Root und einige unfreie #Android- und #Google-Features sollte man hier verzichten können. Zwischenzeitig gab es nicht mal #aptX-Unterstützung. Und immer im Hinterkopf behalten, dass es sich hier quasi um ein 1-Personen-Projekt handelt.

@EduTechBerlin ich habe zwar Erfahrung u.a. mit #eOS und #DivestOS , aber nutze außer #Threema @threemaapp keine der Apps, zu denen Du Fragen hast.
Ob und inwiefern Apps mit ohne Google bzw. mit #MicroG laufen, kann u.a. über #Plexus recherchiert werden. Auch im Forum von #eOS wird eine Liste dazu gepflegt. Beides hier verlinkt: https://gnulinux.ch/%EF%BB%BFplexus-remove-the-fear-of-android-app-compatibility-on-de-googled-devices
