Despite the muntjac deer's best efforts there are still many tulips left. This beautiful variety Tulipa Ayaan, named in honour of feminist, activist and politician Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

Sitting in The Kingsmead Kitchen, our regular café in Bath, it occurred to me that looking out of the window is like sitting in the cinema. The world outside as a movie.
Something to do with the size and aspect ratio of the large window.#kingsmeadkitchen #bath #cityofbath #streetphotography #cafephotography #lifeasamovie #artist #wolfkettler #photographyartist #photography

Hello from the garden! Sunny today and blowing half a gale.
Potted on 60 seedlings, all from late last year’s sowing.
The seeds that were meant to overwinter in soil to germinate in the spring did well. The results from the other perennials are not so encouraging.#seedlings #pottingon #growyourown #artistsgarden #garden #gardener #gardening #gardenphotography #artist #wolfkettler #permaculture #photographyartist #photography #gardenwiltshire #wiltshiregarden #wiltshire #autumnsowing

I am having a desk day, which isn't nearly as dull as it sounds. On the contrary. I am up to something rather exciting.

Good morning from our garden!
The anemones in the "grass meadow" are only just beginning to flower, a week or two later than last year.
The genus name, incidentally, is derived from the Greek word anemos, or wind.#grassmeadow #spring #springflowers #anemos #wind #anemone #anemones #anemoneblanda #artistsgarden #garden #gardener #gardening #gardenphotography #artist #wolfkettler #photographyartist #photography #gardenwiltshire #wiltshiregarden #wiltshire

Woke up this morning, went into the garden, still in my bathrobe, looked up and all I saw was this, the colour of happiness. Beautiful, pure, unadulterated blue sky. Not a cloud, not a condensation strip, just beauty, nature and joy.

The first day this year that I can, with a clear conscience, call spring.
This rather big shrub in the photograph is a type of Prunus, which has self seeded in the garden, where it wanted to be. Glorious weed!#artistsgarden #garden #gardener #gardening #gardenphotography #artist #wolfkettler #spring #prunus #selfseeded #glorious #weed #photographyartist #photography #gardenwiltshire #wiltshiregarden #wiltshire
