Good morning/afternoon or evening all.

This is a favourite image of mine as it represents the winter in our tidal landscape so well.
The ice forms these thin slabs on the banks as the tide (the highest in the world) rises and falls each day. The sun was hitting the edges of the ice as it was low in the sky and casting a warm glow over everything.

Winter will soon be over and Spring will be here. Here's hoping.

I couldn't have biked this far 12 years ago when I was 63, even on an ebike. I could barely walk 1km on a good day.
I use the power less each time I do these rides. I feel myself getting stronger every time.
There are lots of hills on this route.
That's the power of plants!

Kingsport Beach

The end of summer is coming faster than I want. In fact we haven't really had much of a summer at all. I think I overslept that morning! However, no doubt there are still children playing at the water's edge in #Kingsport, #NovaScotia as in this dreamy scene.

The other night we cycled to Kingsport on the #MinasBasin off the Bay of Fundy. It was a lovely evening and not a long ride,but the traffic on the road we took home (and some of the way there) had more traffic than we are comfortable with.The beach was quiet and the sunset was lovely, turning to deep red streaks as we made our way home.

We went on a great 35km (~22mi) bicycle ride yesterday afternoon. It included the Starrs Point loop and this time we went up along the bank of the basin as the grass wasn't too long and a vehicle had been along, making it possible to cycle with care. The video was taken at the end of the line in the photo.
You have to take the days as you have them, summer will soon be over.

Views over the Minas Basin
Cycling off the beaten path can bring great rewards in the #AnnapolisValley #NovaScotia . There are some spectacular and unique views to be seen by taking the less travelled back roads (watch for the potholes of course) and even going along the edge of a field. #Blomidon is seen at the end of the clip, along with my travelling companion @stevenkennard .

Supermoon over the Minas Basin at Low Tide:
With the full moon tonight, this seems to be a good photograph to post.This was taken years ago as part of a GooglePlus project.
The Minas Basin on the Bay of Fundy gets the world's lowest tides and we see constant changes in the floor of the basin.

Super Moon in the Blue Hour - Minas Basin
Tonight is the full moon, so I remembered this taken a few years ago. It was low tide so the water's a long way out from the shore, exposing interesting red rock formations, pools of water and red sandy mud. A 230-year-old house called #JampolisCottage in #Avonport has been donated to the #WritersFederation of #NovaScotia .
The property sits along the shores of the #MinasBasin with a view of #CapeBlomidon .
#Americans Neil and Jane Jampolis were award-winning scenic and lighting designers. They bought the property in 1996.
