The harbour at Harbourville is raised, so fishermen have to wait for the tide to rise high enough before they can enter. These guys had about 30 minutes to twiddle their thumbs before they could inch in, then unload their traps and finish their day. This would mark the end of the lobster season at this part of the province.

Good morning/afternoon or evening all.
This is a favourite image of mine as it represents the winter in our tidal landscape so well.
The ice forms these thin slabs on the banks as the tide (the highest in the world) rises and falls each day. The sun was hitting the edges of the ice as it was low in the sky and casting a warm glow over everything.Winter will soon be over and Spring will be here. Here's hoping.
I hope you all have as good a day as you hope for.

Another image from our Tuesday excursion to to Two Islands on the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia. Some of the cliffs have an interesting texture to them, and this image was made later on the hike on the return trip to our starting place. These cliffs are really spectacular from the islands in early evening light.

From yesterday's walk on the Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia. We arrived at high tide so had little beach to walk at first. We had to stop and wait at several headlands and other obstacles until the water receded enough to pass by. On the return, we had much more beach to enjoy, although the tide still had a long ways to fall.

Out for a stroll on the Bay of Fundy on Friday. The temperatures were nice but the wind was ferocious (well for one person in the party). I love to be out in adverse conditions. It reminds me of a poem by Hamlin Garland I learned in school. I will put the poem in the alt text. The landmass in the mist to the right is Blomidon. Molly Mac loves the cool air.

I love walking along sandy beaches, red sand, white sand, it's lovely. But I also love rocky beaches and basalt rock beaches. Those white areas, for folk who haven't spent much time along beaches, show where gulls have been spending time. :)

Which is good because that 4K camera adds 20kg to my chin.
But, sadly, the dogs didn't get their day on the telly :D
