Holdaway on March 21, 2025, at 89 years.Mike is perhaps best known for his meticulous experiments on the Al2SiO5 system and for developing the andalusite weight loss method for determining reaction direction. At Southern Methodist University his work provided experimental constraints on the triple point of the polymorphs for the first time.
