#MechanicalKeyboards are a hobby that I picked up during 2020 and has accompanied me since. My very first mech was a very standard one from Amazon with red switches that made me think that they were completely overhyped and not worth the price, but it turned out it was just that red switches were a bit too soft for my fingers.
I also learned that I could build my own, and I jumped straight to the other end of mechanical keyboard customization, building an ortholinear JJ50 board from KPRepublic. I cheaped out in all parts (in case I fucked it up, being my very first and all) with cheap knockoff silent tactile switches, and a cheap DSA keycap set, but I splurged in a wooden artisanal top-row SA keycap with an Icelandic rune branded on it, as the escape key.

Je me rends compte que ça fait maintenant des semaines que j'utilise mon clavier #corne avec #ergol sans revenir régulièrement à un clavier fr azerty. Sauf pour l'accès à certaines touches spéciales (genre euro, ou prtscrn dont je ne me souviens pas l'emplacement).
Alors évidemment je ne vais pas encore très vite (d'où l`utilisation de l'autre qd j'en ai besoin) et j'ai un peu trop tendance à regarder les touches (oui elles sont marquées) mais c'est de mieux en mieux 😀 -

My middle right thumb key has been playing up again, so I've started experimenting with a few(!) things. Current #keymap is probably not the best advert for a 40% #ergomech #mechkeeb #Keyboard... 🙄
Leaning deeply into combos. Learning a lot about the difference between things that seem to make sense when abstracted vs things that make actual sense in action.
Muscle memory is being battered, but it feels good to experiment towards best fit. It will (/may?) pare down in the near future...
