But this evening, I finally mustered up all my courage and decided to try to fix it.

Got my hands on this watch with Jerry Lewis on the dial. Opening it up, I was quite surprised to find a Helbros movement inside! 17 jewel, I'll go ahead and go through this and service it, but then it's going to be up for sale. I'm getting a bit of a backlog of watches to work on on stream! (I still need to test to make sure my laptop can run a stream. Last time, it was a slideshow 😅)

Should I redo the lume on the hands and dial, or leave it as is?

I'm waiting for watch parts to dry, so I'm left to sit here and think a bit. It's a relaxing time, and I am grateful I can do this. Thinking about this Seiko I've been wearing a week or two straight now, and I'm wondering if I'll ever get it to keep anything netter than ten seconds. I know it's asking a lot, but it's a fun thing to tinker with. I've got a large collection of watches but, for the most part, I think I'm losing attachment. This is a good thing, as I can try selling those off if/when I can.

I'll say this, a great way to keep a watch fresh in your collection is to swap bands. It helps adjust the look, feel, and feeling it could give you.

I wonder if I'm doing the right thing, or if I'm good enough, if I even know how to do what I want. It's scary but I need to face these questions and work them out.

New toy in! This is used to lift hands off watches with less (I won't say zero) of a chance of damging the dial! Kind of overkill but I wanted to try it out, better to have it and not needed sort of thing. Should help elevate the work I can do at home though!
