  1. I love my #Keychron K6 retro style mechanical #keyboard and my #Kensington Expert Mouse (which is a #trackball). In fact I love it so much I've got two of each and have a set for the home office and a set when I'm at clients.

Given these shorter contracts lately, I'm looking for something a little less bulky to drag around, so I'm testing out the #logitech MX Keys Mini chiclet keyboard and the Kensington #Orbit wireless trackball.

    Opinions later! 😀

  2. 🚨 New Video: I Ditched Razer for a 4-Year-Old Keyboard (And You Should Too)

Stop buying products designed to fail. After four years on the market, the Keychron Q1 proves that hardware should be a tool you own, not a disposable product you rent. In this video, I break down why I scrapped my Razer Huntsman Elite, a $200 piece of planned obsolescence, for a heavy, modular, and open-source aluminum chassis.

We dive into the hardware, the hot-swappable switches, QMK/VIA open-source firmware, and the three questions every piece of tech must answer before it earns a spot on my desk.

    Is it repairable?
    Is it modular?
    Is it sovereign?

  8. Super happy with my switch from the #Keychron #K3 Max (Blue switches) to the #NuPhy #Air75 V3 (Blush nano switches).

You really can't go further in terms of clickyness and loudness of switches, to now dead silent ones. Still, I love it and I think my girlfriend and coworkers appreciate it even more.

Overall, the Air75 feels more premium than the K3 Max. I now have a battery that lasts for more than a week, and the option to add a fun knob!

  9. A couple of updates.

    I’m done with #Soulframe no-pe.netlify.app/soulframe/

There is a #KeychronLink (USB dongle) issue where it appears as a gamepad and interferes with your actual gamepads. I solved the problem by plugging via #HIDRemapper. So, the #KeychronM6 is not the best mouse. no-pe.netlify.app/mouse/#keych

  14. I decided to start writing about one device at a time; otherwise, I’ll never start. “Device” is a vague term by design, but I’ll start with peripherals. For now, just about a mouse.

I’m going to post updates here in a thread. RSS should publish them as new posts, but I’ve had some problems with that.

  15. This #MBP is astonishingly heavy. Looked it up - 4.7lb. Whoa. That’s heavier than Big Blue - my #Keychron Q3.

Looking forward to seeing how much slower BAD. BAD DHRY. BE POSITIVE. Aight then. Looking forward to seeing how fast it hardware-encodes #HEVC. Shame it dun have native AV1 encoding but, well, can’t have everything.

Also looking forward to rubbing it hard enough to start the fans blowing. Supposedly that takes quite some effort.

DANKE!

I don’t think I’ve ever used so many different keyboards in a year. But I am happy that things have been improving so fast that I can actually feel the difference between them.(...)

  26. Calling out to the #Fediverse for a #Hardware #Recommendation. I'm looking to replace my #Ducky One Two #Keyboard.

I really like Ducky, but I'm after something wireless which they don't offer.

    Here's my check list:

    - Full size (96%/smooshed full size at a pinch)
    - Wireless - receiver preferred.
    - Mechanical or similar but quiet switches.

    Nice to have:

    - Full profile
    - Backlit

I've been looking at #Keychron which seems like they have some good options, what's the quality like there?

  27. Wow, I do have a problem. After some disappointment with #Ducky keyboard, I've switched to #Keychron V3 and I loved this keyboard and the switches. After getting a wrist stand I've brought back the typing speed back (the keycaps are pretty high)...but...it was a TKL layout and I realized how much I actually use the num block, especially for IP address and the num_enter key...also I really missed a volume contol (not with fn+..., but "natively")...hence...Keychron V6! :)
