  1. The #internet has got the imperialists running scared of public opinion. This is why they are attacking the internet, e.g. #AgeVerification, removing #Section230, etc. Don't fall for their bullshit, people. The #Epstein class is obviously NOT "protecting" your kids. youtube.com/shorts/r_Lor...

  2. Everyone who spins up a server, develops an app, or otherwise hosts others’ speech in the Open Social Web has skin in the game when it comes to defending Section 230. eff.org/deeplinks/2026/04/open #fediverse #section230 #opensocialweb

  3. New Mexico jury found Meta liable for child endangerment, awarding $375 million. Meta's stock rose 5%. The fine matters less than the legal precedent: New Mexico's case sidesteps Section 230 protections by targeting platform design, not user content. 40+ state AGs now have a tested strategy. Next phase determines if Meta must redesign products. #TechPolicy #Section230 #PlatformRegulation

  5. "The old way of thinking about how to make #socialplatforms safer was that you had to make them do more #contentmoderation.
But by the mid-2020s, almost everyone knew both adults & children who struggled to regulate their usage of apps and suffered as a result.
Regulators & plaintiffs’ attorneys began new investigations into whether a #socialapp might be held liable not for what people said on it, but rather how it worked.
    Increasingly, it appears they will."

  7. 🚨⚠️ URGENT ‼️ Congress is pushing through 18 bills that could age-gate and censor the internet as we speak.

I say this about every Privacy Guides video, because it is repeatedly true, but this video is our best one yet 🤩 youtu.be/q0hE4EM7RRo

And this is an absolutely critical watch if you're in the U.S.A., or at least contact your reps via badinternetbills.com/ if you don't watch. The bills being proposed (largely by Democrats, they are not fighting for you!) will have a devastating global impact on free speech and privacy online.

  9. Repealing Section 230 is a mistake at a time where we just can't afford to make one. The Trump administration is corrupt and vindictive and will use the removal of 230 as a catalyst to bully online communities and platforms, small and large, to cater to their whims.

I have no idea why Sen. Whitehouse cannot see this. That even if you think there are issues with 230, NOW IS NOT THE TIME.

  10. 🔥 Oh, look! Another article attempting to unravel the mysteries of Section 230, only to trip over its own shoelaces. Apparently, it's all about protecting *users*, not those poor, helpless tech behemoths. 😂 Because nothing says "protection" like drowning readers in a sea of self-righteous buzzwords and donation pleas. 💸

  14. Senators Josh Hawley and Richard Blumenthal introduced legislation that would allow social media companies to be sued for spreading harmful content created with artificial intelligence. Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act protects internet companies from liability for content posted on their platforms, maybe with an AI carve-out in the future. Bipartisan support for the proposal suggests a potential breakthrough after several years of stalled U.S. legislative efforts.
