  1. CW: Elon's X is doing it again. (some sensitive topics like trafficking or csam allegedly allowed on X)

Wasn't their some drama some time ago involving #Twitter #x knowingly hosting csam but doing nothing to take it down?

Well apparently there was another #section230 drama with X again in 2026

Twitter was not held accountable for both 'knowing' about csam content on their platform and for knowing about sex trafficking. While also supposibly not asking action.

I can't even remember the last time on Sakurajima.moe that we had any local issues with content like this at a grand scale specifically other then maybe some instances they had to limit and etc. But not as much of an issue on their actual local feeds. I hear about how bad X is about moderation all the time but you'd think the least they could do is moderate against users posting csam material.

  2. The #internet has got the imperialists running scared of public opinion. This is why they are attacking the internet, e.g. #AgeVerification, removing #Section230, etc. Don't fall for their bullshit, people. The #Epstein class is obviously NOT "protecting" your kids. youtube.com/shorts/r_Lor...

  6. #Meta is appealing a landmark verdict that found the company liable for a woman’s depression, arguing that #Section230 of the Communications Decency Act shields it from liability. 7. The Open Social Web’s kryptonite is the liability participants can face as intermediaries. Laws aiming to change Section 230 put decentralized projects in a uniquely precarious position. eff.org/deeplinks/2026/04/open #fediverse #opensource #section230

  8. Everyone who spins up a server, develops an app, or otherwise hosts others’ speech in the Open Social Web has skin in the game when it comes to defending Section 230. eff.org/deeplinks/2026/04/open #fediverse #section230 #opensocialweb

  9. @boelder
This article goes along fine describing things until the very first moment it has to begin to explain things. Then the author is like, "the reason things went wrong is #section230!"

It's like reading an article about cheating in bicycle racing and when it's time to say why, the author is like, "it's because humans have skeletons!"

Are you sure about that, champ? Maybe you should write a bit more about how you reached your conclusions?

FYI: Massachusetts' top court rules Meta can't hide behind Section 230 in kids' addiction case: Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court today ruled Section 230 does not shield Meta from state claims that Instagram was deliberately designed to addict children. ppc.land/massachusetts-top-cou #Massachusetts #Meta #Section230 #Instagram #KidsAddiction

  11. Imagine that you go on a corporate #SocialMedia platform, and it displays all the personal info it knows about you and then claims it will blackmail you if you don't visit for multiple hours per day, all while it pushes at you all the stuff most likely to trigger you?

Would that be speech covered by #Section230?

All their design choices can't be exempted.
