#mammothapp — Public Fediverse posts

Whoever made the @mammoth app, I just want to say I love you and you are amazing.

Genuinely the first Mastodon app I’ve used that has:

* Polish
* Intuitive UI
* A way of finding content and content creators *so easily*

It genuinely feels like Mammoth should be the official Mastodon app, no lie.

I just hope it’s available on both Android and iOS (I don’t think so).

Thank you for all the suggestions yesterday! I found a client that works, #MammothApp

It's not perfect. It does this thing where it'll remove link text from a post if the link has an embed, which is bad for many reasons, like if there's an embed that tells me nothing about the link, or any site could mimic the embed of another and I'd have no way of knowing. I'll see how they respond to a bug report about that...

Also there's some controversy about it in the hashtag. Sigh

#Mastodon client #MammothApp appears to use a moderation layer separate from server-level #moderation, where posts are removed exclusively on this third-party app.

I screen recorded the event.

This particular post was by Seirdy, and is the third time in a month this has happened to him.

Here's the thing, other odd behavior resulting in missing posts has happened a lot, to multiple users. All on one app. A lot related to #threads

I posted a thorough write-up about it back in Dec. 🧵

@BeAware @Seirdy Maybe. That would mean there's an undisclosed (as far as I'm aware) moderation level on a third-party.

It would also mean that this post I screen recorded disappearing would've also been moderated. For what though? #moderation #mastodon #activitypub #mammothapp

@BeAware @Seirdy Nope. Post exists on #IceCubesApp, #MastodonApp, #ivoryapp and #MastodonSocial web browser all.

This isn't the first time this has happened to Seirdy. It's the third. All three times on #MammothApp

Cool. #MammothApp smart lists calls `/api/v3/channels` but requires a `Bearer` token even when I don't have a moth.social account. @mammoth the post that was replaced with "Post Removed" was under the #threads feed.

I then happened to notice that a large chunk of posts under that hashtag were not visible on the #MammothApp that I could see on #ivoryapp and #IceCubesApp from around 250pm to 7pm EST, I believe.

Hey so under a hashtag feed on #MammothApp, I watched a post disappear and replaced with a "Post Removed" message.

I was just in the middle of reading it when it happened so I hopped the official Mastodon app and that post was there.

I then hoped on #Ivory and #IceCubesApp and it was there too. Any insight? @mammoth ?

The new https://getmammoth.app/ looks and feels really nice.

本来寄予厚望但现在泯然众人的免费客户端，目前版本v1.7 build186

1. 无法调整版面样式，浪费屏幕左侧区域
2. 无法对链接进行操作（可通过进入嘟文详情页-长按嘟文进入文本选择模式workaround）
3. 目前版本莫名出现点击回复的id却进到毫不相干的陌生id个人页的bug
4. 嘟文详情页从嘟文原发实例拉取，导致前后嘟文加载迟缓甚至失败，对不在国外或不是全局代理的用户不友好（#重要！
5. 点进嘟文详情页，菜单中复制嘟文链接等选项会消失，需要嘟文在时间轴中时才可操作，因此无法获取回复的嘟文链接（要通过在浏览器中打开workaround）
6. 界面上悬浮的发布fab按钮会在非常微妙的嘟文长度时遮挡书签或回复按钮，而且fab按钮虽可拖动但无法临时移位，只能进入设置切到另一侧（无法关闭）
7. 过长的cw提醒会导致排版错位，文字溢出到下面的嘟文；而且cw无法再隐藏回去
8. 嘟文倒序加载（从上次加载位置从下向上）且不可设置；浏览间隔一久要先反复回到顶端加载好几次，才能从上到下浏览
9. ui基本都是iOS标准组件，缺乏设计
