@IceCubesApp Has SO MUCH going for it. However, I’m back to @tusker because I tried to setup a warn/hide filter on my timeline multiple times and posts continue to display as normal, even after emptying the cache and closing and opening the app. The filters that I setup in #IceCubesApp work as expected in #tuskerapp. 🤷‍♂️ At the end of a day for this user, basic features should work as expected and shiny new features (AI generated ALT text) have less of an allure. #techgripe

After a week of use, I gotta say that #IvoryApp has the best experience, hands down. Intuitive and easy - just damn pleasant to use. Totally worth $2/mo.

I like #TuskerApp and wanted to like it more but it acts weird regularly on my phone and doesn’t get the latest toots or only shows 20-ish new toots then nothing more.

#IvoryApp is promising - and mostly because it has #GIFs, something my #GenX butt values (i say GenX because I hear the kids aren’t into gifs).

But I’m not seeing an app that’s much better than #TuskerApp, except for the gifs.

And the #IceCubesApp is just buggy.

Can someone familiar with #TuskerApp explain why posts with images are all collapsed? I can’t find a setting to undo this.

Installed #IvoryApp to see if it was as good as folks have been gushing about. Immediately turned off that I can’t post without being on a free trial. Their pricing is ok ($2/mo or $25/y, and devs deserve to get paid) but why irritate people right off the bat?

Also trying #IceCubesApp, and posting this in #TuskerApp. We’ll see which one ends up working the best for me & how my brain works.

Giving #TuskerApp a try. Several things I like:
Alt text is displayed when you tap the image. 🎉
Good UI for creating alt text. 🥰
Large posts collapsed in the timeline 😍
Leading/trailing actions on timeline are nice. ☺️
Not so great:
Contrast. Especially white on black text is too harsh/requires more line height & maybe leading. 😵‍💫
Action icons should change shape/fill to show action has been taken. 🧐 (E.g. with orange accent colour, contrast between favourited and standard is very low)

I was trying out #IvoryApp like everyone else today and also came across #TuskerApp. Noticed that it has a “Draw something” feature when you go to compose a post. Not sure how often I’d use something like that but I haven’t seen that before. Kinda cool.

#Help! How do I read posts in order, from oldest to most recent, not skipping any, and not have READ MORE jump me to the most recent post or loads? I have to scroll back to where I was.
I don't want READ MORE at all; I want everything to load. Is there a limit I can raise?
Just like the other site, I'm pushed to see the latest content. This is not not bad.
