Huh. This cup looks like it’s just developed a Mastodon client, charged a “one-time” registration fee good for all future versions, and is now expecting users to pay AGAIN for a minor version upgrade. #MonaApp

Apparently this guy paid a “one-off” lifetime fee for #MonaApp and then happily paid AGAIN for a minor update to the app just because the developer told him he had to.

His name, versus what he metaphorically did in this regard, is pure coincidence BTW.

@bertapetra Bin seit längerem mit #MonaApp zufrieden. Lohnt sich aber, etwas Zeit in den Settings zu verbringen - UI und UX lässt sich recht weitreichend anpassen :)

There are two standard light themes in #MonaApp: White and Sepia. Maybe a third one, @MonaApp? High contrast. I would be very pleased.

I switch between from time to time. More #MonaApp than #Ivory. Mona is technically far ahead. But with so many features that's not always an advantage. Ivory is more good looking and compact but it's always been a bit behind.

That is true. Most previews are correct. But in my timeline there are a few that are not. It should be possible to solve this problem.

On the latest version (and this was also happening for me back on version 6), I’ll be typing—either with the standard iOS keyboard or Braille Screen Input—and the keyboard just randomly disappears. Then I have to go back, find the text field again, double tap, reposition my cursor… and sometimes it just drops the keyboard again. Rinse and repeat.

This makes it really tough to consistently write posts or replies, especially using VoiceOver.

Would love to see this fixed—Mona is great otherwise.

I’ve tried #Ivory too but it didn’t fit for me

Problem with sideloading is you have to re-sideload things every week. It’s worth it though, for Apollo. Amazing app and, unlike #MonaApp, the dev wasn’t a capitalist hand-over-fist moneygrubber.

This is for #Octarine. $90 for a product that isn’t even a tenth as capable as Obsidian. Fuck me - and here was I thinking the #MonaApp dev was a moneygrubbing ass.

Il y a à peu près 2 ans j’ai acheté l’app Mona for Mastodon en formule ultra, licence à vie.
À présent, l’auteur sort une nouvelle version de l’application, qui n’utilise pas la même licence, il me faudrait donc repasser à la caisse (on parle d’un peu plus de 20€, ce qui n’est pas rien pour une app iOS).

De ce fait j’ai décidé de changer d’app et de passer sur Ice Cubes, qui lui est réellement gratuit, et bien suffisant pour l’usage que j’en ai.

So, die neue #MonaApp 7 ist bereits gekauft und installiert. Große Unterschiede (unterhalb der Oberfläche) sind nicht zu erkennen, gleichwohl sehe ich es mehr als Entwicklungshilfe und da ich die #App wirklich oft nutze, mache ich das gerne. Heisst aber nicht, dass ich mich nicht über neue Features freuen würde und ein paar konkrete Wünsche hätte ich.

Not sure which languages you're proficient in but if you make a native app I'd seriously consider paying for it. Just freaking outstanding work, use it every day.

Ich freue mich, dass die Mastodon-App Toot! demnächst in einer neuen Version erscheint. Sie war meine Einstiegs-App ins Fediverse und ich mochte die UI sehr. Zwischenzeitlich sah es so aus, als würde sie nicht mehr weitergeführt vom Entwickler, sodass ich zu Mona gewechselt bin. Ich hab mir gerade nochmal Toot! angesehen und … naja, Mona ist schon eine andere Liga. Bin aber gespannt, wie Toot! sich jetzt aufstellt und werde das in jedem Fall checken, bevor ich Mona für Version 7 nochmal Geld rüberschiebe. #tootapp #MonaApp
