🧵 Refreshing my memory of how LuxCoreRender works, I made a weathered version of the mech head I recently made in SDF Modeler. 🤖

Another rendering with #LuxCore in #Blender. This applies #Caustics to the bottom of a pool and records the animation of the Ocean physics.
I wanted to record it from above, but I couldn't figure out how to get the light paths to show through the surface of the water.

Playing with #LuxCore caustics and volumetric scattering. I have no idea what I'm doing, but the effect is really interesting. I'm planning on doing a water-heavy scene in the future, so I might have to mess with LuxCore soon. It having its own full set of materials and lighting makes it feel very foreign to work with, but the effects look so much better than Cycles when it comes to caustics and volumes. I wonder how well it works with things like fire (I have no idea how you'd introduce things like the
heatattribute into the LuxCore material panels for setting up emission correctly, for instance).

@djnavarro 3 years ago i tried to transfer the rainbow colors to path of a Lorenz attractor. Geometry and colors are calculated in Lisp. Only a few turns of the trace. Rendered with Blender and LuxCore.

Some more or less simple @kde #Plasma [retro?]futuristic #wallpaper.
Made with @blender using the wonderful #Luxcore render engine.
I haven't published it anywhere else. Enjoy!

mmm in #blender I tested Cycles but apparently only #luxcore is able to correctly simulate a light source bouncing on a mirror ... I'm looking at some simulation for a project that use hemispheric mirror for dome like projection ...
the pattern seen here in the white is due to the hemisphere being made of faces, I had to make it super detailed, each "dot" is one facet reflection (the light source is invisible)
