¡Feliz inicio de semana para todos! Qué gran vibra empezar el lunes celebrando el solsticio y un muy feliz Litha.
Por mi parte, les cuento que ya cumplí con el desayuno de los campeones: me acabo de comer un tamalito delicioso y ahora mismo estoy disfrutando de un rico cafecito para terminar de despertar por completo. No hay mejor forma de arrancar la rutina y llenarse de energía que con la barriga llena y el corazón contento. Espero que tengan un lunes excelente, que la semana los trate increíble y que alcancen todas sus metas desde hoy.

¿Sabían que la celebración de Litha marca el solsticio de verano en el hemisferio norte y representa el momento del año con el día más largo y la noche más corta?
Esta festividad hunde sus raíces en las antiguas tradiciones paganas y de los pueblos celtas, quienes veneraban el punto de máxima potencia del Sol antes de que los días comenzaran a acortarse nuevamente hacia el invierno. Tradicionalmente, la celebración se ejecuta mediante el encendido de grandes hogueras en las colinas y campos durante la víspera del solsticio, un acto ritual que buscaba otorgar fuerza energética al astro rey y purificar el ganado, las cosechas y a las propias personas frente a las enfermedades y las malas energías. Las familias recolectaban hierbas medicinales y sagradas como el hipérico o hierba de San Juan, el muérdago y la milenrama durante esta jornada específica, bajo la creencia de que las propiedades curativas y mágicas de la flora alcanzaban su máximo potencial debido a la intensa exposición a la luz solar. La tradición también incluye la elaboración de coronas de flores amarillas y caléndulas que simbolizan la rueda solar, el canto y los bailes comunitarios alrededor del fuego, así como la quema simbólica de elementos viejos para dar paso a la abundancia de la temporada de cosecha que apenas comienza.

The weather is perfect today, a little chilly at 64F (18C) but that is excellent for hiking, so I'll be spending most of the day outdoors walking the trails.This season, like the last two summers, I'll be making offerings and doing devotions for the Dagda. Since he is known for rebalancing the seasons when they're off, I think he's been getting wider recognition and has been more "present" lately, if that makes sense. He's not technically a sun god, but the beginning of the summer season is a good place to start when it comes to the changing climate.
First up this morning was getting out to greet the sun, and one of the first things I noticed was all the ripe wild strawberries around the yard! I picked a handful, leaving most for the animals, and made a couple tablespoons of syrup to put on ice cream after dinner tonight.
