I know there isn't a RAW photo editor that comes close to #Lightroom for #Linux, but which do you prefer and why?

I have tried #Darktable, #Aftershotpro and probably more, but UI seems pretty horrible or development has stopped.

I've been using #darktable to process my RAW drone photography for almost a year now.

It takes a while to get used to it, a lifetime to learn it all, but I've been enjoying the experience and I think I'm getting the hang of it. There are some great resources out there to help learn how to use it.

It's cold enough tonight to make frozen soap bubbles like these from a couple of years ago, but there's no snow to set them on. So far this year we have only received a light dusting of snow way back in November. I thought about crushing up some ice to set them on. Might look cool with reflected light from the flash? Maybe I'll try it sometime. For now my warm bed is cosy and I don't want to go outside and freeze!

The Nevada Northern Railway Museum in Ely is the gold standard for train buffs. With the exception of the gift shop, it is as if the entire railyard was frozen in time from the 1930s. The machine shop (my favorite!) is fully operational and visitors are free to walk in and roam around at will. This isn't an image of just any mustangs, these are Carter Reservoir Spanish mustangs. They've been DNA tested to the original Iberian stock brought to the Americas by the murderous Conquistadors. This isolated herd found in the far NW corner of Washoe County, Nevada, feature primitive (dun factor) markings including leg stripes, breast herringbones, dorsal stripes, black facial stripes, and capes.
