It is a positive commandment of the Torah to relate the miracles and wonders wrought for our ancestors in Egypt on the night of the 15th of Nissan, as it is written (Exodus 13:3): "Remember this day when you left Egypt," similar to the obligation (Exodus 20:8): "Remember the Sabbath day."

How do we know this is on the night of the 15th? This is taught by the words (Exodus 13:8): "And you shall tell your child on that day, saying: 'It is because of this..." which indicate it is to be done at the time when matzah and marror are placed before you.

This mitzvah applies even when one does not have a child to tell. Even wise sages who know it well are obligated to tell about the Exodus from Egypt. Whoever elaborates upon the events which transpired is worthy of praise.

I'm working on a haggadah of my own after realizing that the one my family has been using for the past 20 years doesn't really feel like it meets the current moment, and I've been looking around for inspirations of my own. #פסח

My family and I are doing something a little bit atypical this year for #passover

For our first night (which we actually did a night early due to some scheduling issues), we did the entire service (in our own way of course), but for the remaining nights of passover we are picking one chunk of the #Haggadah to discuss and spend more time with, but also using it as an excuse to eat more #matzah and drink more #wine.

This Moshe Rynecki #Passover #Seder scene appeared in Nasz Przeglad Ilustrowany 1938, number 16, page 5. The whereabouts of this painting, and whether or not it survived the Second World War, are unknown.
I also know that my great-grandfather painted a series of pictures based on the #Haggadah, but that the images were never printed and that the work was lost in the war.
