I’m remembering a scene from some piece of fiction that was sort of a slanted (but still powerful) declaration of love. Person B was in love with person A, and person A had no idea. The scene went something like:
A: Why do you care what these people think?
B: I don’t. *beat* I care what YOU think.
A:Any ideas? I don’t even remember the medium which makes it tough.

Hi internet hivemind / #foak I have a software question.
I have been using Adobe Character animator for a project, even though I despise adobe.
But I really want to be able to work on this project when I'm not at the makerspace, and I want to be able to invite collaborators in to the project, and that means I need to stop using Adobe Character Animator.
Are there any pieces of #OpenSource #Libre #FLOSS software that can do 2D rigged puppet animation and automatic voice movement matching in a style similar to Adobe Character Animator?

With Harmony dying, does anyone know if there’s a useful replacement in the “one remote to control your entire AV setup, including IR and Bluetooth” world? My parents have said that that’s the only thing they want for Christmas, and Harmony was the only one I know about.

Help me out, this is beyond my search capabilities: I’m trying to track down a list that a science fiction magazine had listed on their website of plots they won’t print anymore. It was funny. One of them was the one where a man and a woman crash their spaceship on an alien world and they turn out to be called Adam and Eve.
Any ideas?

Anyone know what “48” means as a verb? Urban Dictionary had a bunch of meanings, most of which seemed fictitious and none of which fit into that sentence.

I know I can pre-filter it with

What do you call that old-timey music that you’d hear on a Victrola in the library of a murder mystery? It’s usually instrumental, piano or wind, jazz-adjacent but calmer and without any improv. Is there a name for it? I’m hoping to find some on Spotify.

Any recommendations for recovering data from an #SDCard and/or fixing its filesystem from #Windows, without formatting it?
Phone is refusing this sd card, and I haven't checked with chkdsk yet, so I don't know the extent of the corruption.Did a quick #FileRecovery / #SDCardRecovery search online, but most results are from 'helpful' 'tutorials' that are actually just adverts for their own products.

To add to @Siiw's question asking why our #tea pot (or rather, #FrenchPress) sometimes leaks down the side while pouring, and sometimes doesn't, here's a photo of ours.
(And yes, we made sure the sieve part of the lid/pressis aligned with the spout, as shown in the photo.)I suspect it has something to do with liquid surface tension on the grate/sieve obstructing free flow of the liquid, but that's just based on highschool #physics I barely remember.

This is bugging me. I recently remembered a salad I used to eat regularly--one I bought, not one I made myself. It was a green salad with bacon, hard-boiled eggs, and warm scalloped potatoes mixed in. And I can't remember where I used to get it! Searching for it turns up mostly potato salads, and it wasn't that.
Does that ring a bell for anyone else? I know this is a stretch.
