To make switching to or getting started with our #DNS servers easier, we're working on a setup overview page.
We'd love your feedback, does this help you, or is anything missing?

I wish there would be end-to-end encrypted, federated micro-blog social media. Social media entries and media aren't stored in plain text, but rather encrypted on the server, and only users who have subscribed to them have the ability to decrypt it.

🌵🤖 Behold, the cactus of RSVP platforms: because nothing screams "efficient" like more servers and URLs to manage! 🙄✨ Forget about easy email invites; instead, dive into the chaotic splendor of federated networks. Maybe get a master's in event botany while you're at it! 🌿🎉

@AimeeMaroux The issue is that #federatedNetworks appear "hard" and are inscrutable to people used to clicking OK on a #EULA without reading it. People who don't understand that they are saying "please take my #privacy and my #rights." People who think that #appStores are great rather than voracious organizations with predatory commission structures.
Average users don't want to think why things are #free and easy. They will also be the ones to complain when a for profit corporation changes their rules in a way that affects them, the user who believes the internet is somehow "free".
The #fediverse is fantastic because no one organization can take it down, and you can change servers if you don't like your current server's new rules. But explaining that to #normies will get you a blank gaze of I comprehension.

@clacke that was my first reaction too. But then I have to remind myself that I have the privilege of more than 20 years of mistakes and mentorship to draw on. Unless one happens to know someone who is already active in our social space, it's still hard to learn about #SoftwareFreedom, managing #PeerProduction and #FederatedNetworks well, using #PlatformCooperatives and decison-making platforms (eg #Loomio) to avoid hierarchy creeping in etc. Let alone find existing projects in a given domain.

This is my first "real" experience of #FederatedNetworks : i post a pic on my #Pixelfed account, that i follow in #Mastodon, it appears immediately and i can retoot it. Tof.
