Every weekend I look back at the preceding week in Kpop and pick out a music video or performance that have particularly liked. This week I have chosen SEEYA -- Stay.
This old Kpop group is new to me. I enjoyed their singing, was charmed by dancer /choreographer Aiki (is she famous?) combining the elegant and the humorous, and was refreshed by a song unburdened by the unmelodic.

While it is definitely not my type of music, I can see why the choreography, which states at about 4' 19", is highly rated. It's probably appeals to young men of a certain age and type, but is nonetheless quite masterful. I didn't enjoy much up until then - far too much male testosterone for my liking but the dance section is worth it.

I'm still thinking about why Le Sserafim --Celebration did not land with me.
Is it because I don't like hardstyle?
I went and listened to what are supposed to be some classics of that genre. I didn't hate it, but it's obviously music to dance to rather than sit down and listen to.
I did, however, come across this older Kpop incorporation of hardstyle into a pop song. I think it works really well, although I'm sure serious hardstyle devotees would dismiss it as weak tea:
