Every weekend I look back at the preceding week in Kpop and pick out a music video or performance that have particularly liked. This week I have chosen SEEYA -- Stay.
This old Kpop group is new to me. I enjoyed their singing, was charmed by dancer /choreographer Aiki (is she famous?) combining the elegant and the humorous, and was refreshed by a song unburdened by the unmelodic.

Wow. The choreography (by Damien Jalet) in this videoclip is insane, specifically the last part.

Review: Notre-Dame de Paris awash in colour and beauty despite the darkness of classic tale
The ballet Notre-Dame de Paris, with choreography by Roland Petit, was created over 60 years ago and is…

This music video, by GENER8ION - STORM, has popped up a few times on my feed. While it is definitely not my type of music, I can see why the choreography, which states at about 4' 19", is highly rated. It's probably appeals to young men of a certain age and type, but is nonetheless quite masterful. I didn't enjoy much up until then - far too much male testosterone for my liking but the dance section is worth it.

I'm still thinking about why Le Sserafim --Celebration did not land with me.
Is it because I don't like hardstyle?
I went and listened to what are supposed to be some classics of that genre. I didn't hate it, but it's obviously music to dance to rather than sit down and listen to.
I did, however, come across this older Kpop incorporation of hardstyle into a pop song. I think it works really well, although I'm sure serious hardstyle devotees would dismiss it as weak tea:
A.C.E -- Cactus
https://youtu.be/-VYJKjyRjik?si=Kaaq8QqsRXxtWPLcI'm sure there are thousands more examples, but I was rather taken with this.
Anyway, I wonder if the brevity of "Celebration" leaves listeners like me feeling frustrated, as one is left with a sense of a handful of musical promises never fulfilled. My disliking the MV, the choreography*, and some of the music show styling did not help matters either.
I'm happy to have discovered A.C.E though -- even if it's years after everybody else!
* Perhaps I should be specify that I do not like the group's choreography. By contrast, I enjoy a lot of the back up dancers' moves.

Choreography has no single point of failure because control is distributed. Each participant holds only its local logic and reacts to events. The overall workflow is an emergent result of all service interactions.

In choreography, compensations are also event-driven. If a payment fails, the payment service publishes a failure event. Subscribing services then execute their own compensating steps without central direction.

In choreography-based sagas, there is no central coordinator. Each service publishes domain events after its local transaction. Other services subscribe to those events and independently decide what action to take next.
