Second, Zine Making and Bookbinding: A Beginner's Guide in 25 Projects, by Lauren Simkin Berke https://publishing.hardiegrant.com/en-us/books/zine-making-and-bookbinding-by-lauren-simkin-berke/9781797238753
You know how lots of craft books teach you how to make specific quick and easy projects, but aren’t actually good reference books? This is definitely not that. (Same with the book in the previous post.) It feels like it was written by someone knowledgeable who wants to teach people enough to truly get started, while not being so big and technical that it’s overwhelming.

Here are some of the things I've made. They bring my total book making count to 8. Thoughts? Ideas?

Frankenstein is, kind of, my current skill level indicator : I did it multiple times over the few past years, iterating over the design every time. I'm very happy with the current version!

It would appear that I have become a full-time bookbinder.
I have a small bindery in Lappeenranta, Finland. 📚 -

What's the #bookbinding term for the cross-section through the pages opposite to the book's spine, and top & bottom?
I like 60s & 70s paperbacks where these sections are dyed. Yellow on DAW SF. What's the one with the turquoise dye?

I made a book with the text from 'Nightfall' by Isaac Asimov. As the story progresses, the pages get darker and the line spacing gets smaller.
"If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore, and preserve for many generations remembrance of the city of God?"

None of the normal shops I look at have these in stock (in the UK).
… and this one is chock full of PVA that I’m having some bother clearing.
Does anyone know where I can find some more?

#Bookbinding adventure continues:
I was feeling silly and made a A9 pamphlet bound notebook. That's roughly 2" by 1½". There are certain challenges working at this scale. Every mistake is magnified, and paper thickness doesn't scale with the dimensions so it folds and rests differently. It's 12 pages total.
Would you buy it?

#Bookbinding adventure continues. I made another coptic binding with 200 pages. I'm also using it (!!) to keep notes on my journey. References, dimensions, embellishments, ideas, etc.
The tension of the thread is better. I used binder clips to compress the signatures as I went. Threading the covers is still a pain. It is always too loose and wiggly.

RE: https://gamepad.club/@bearmine/117243093166295684
Does anyone have any tips on how I can mark the front cover as the front for this leather cover?
Since it's leather I can't really write on it. I'm not sure what to even search for. Something easy would be nice.
