Hope you are very well.

Welcome to our Workshops at 4bid, a great way to get a first-hand introduction or deepening into the art of bookbinding and printmaking.
All of our workshops are taught by practicing artists and craftspeople, in an open and friendly atmosphere.

Bookbinding Workshops:
-1.Introduction to Bookbinding, Pamphlets; Stab Bindings; Concertinas
-2.single sheet binding
-3.Exposed Spine Binding
-4.Coptic Binding

DESCRIPTION
Suitable for complete beginners. During this workshop participants will learn how to fold and manipulate, and will learn three versatile book structures – the pamphlet, the concertina, and the Japanese stab binding – which can be used to present work, to personalise and give as gifts, or as the basis for artists’ books. On completion of the workshop students will leave with a set of their own books and the skills to make more at home using minimal equipment. Introduction to Bookbinding 1 is the first in a three-part series of introductory bookbinding workshops at 4bid.
You are encouraged, but not required, to take all three workshops in order. Participants to Introduction to Bookbinding 2 will benefit from techniques learned in '1,' and likewise participants to '3' will benefit from techniques learned in '2.' For a complete beginner, taking all three workshops in order will give you a good foundation in bookbinding.

I cleared enough space in my studio to punch the holes in the three daily planner books and new 4 x 5 notebook I just started making. I was going to sew them up tonight in front of the TV but I was really curious to see what that new notebook looked like when it was finished, so I stitched it, pressed it, trimmed it, and rounded the corners. I'm pleased with the way it turned out. The cover, by the way, is from a book of decorative card stock. #MakeSomething #bookbinding

I have the entire day off from responsibilities other than feeding my dogs and myself and giving us all potty breaks. I'm going to spend the entire day down in my studio prepping it to get stuff done.

I'm also going to bind three daily planners (July-Sept) and a new style of 4x5 inch lined pocket notebook. I'll likely do the page punching in my studio and sew them in front of the TV this evening. (Yes, I hand stitch them. It really isn't a big deal.)

Fridge #notepad ? Sorted! By doing it ourselves (with some #recycling too).

This is another crafting experiment we made, and we tried to use old boxes from everyday items (for the notepad board) like cereal boxes, crackers, etc. The notepad has been designed from scratch using #canva

After some time another #crafting experiment.
This time I decided to attempt making a #clipboard a project that is pretty easy and quick to do. The only problem I faced was the "rivets" (i don't know what is their real name), I didn't had the proper tool to secure them, so they are a little bit deformed. Klej z mąki pszennej to w sumie niesamowity wynalazek. Cienki karton z mrożonej pizzy przerobił w gruby karton, którego teraz użyję do oprawienia książki. Wystarczyło nałożyć warstwę tego kleju na zadrukowaną stronę , skleić z drugim kwadratem zadrukowaną stroną i położyć pod czymś ciężkim. Wyszedł elegancki szary karton. Zaoszczędziłem zawrotne 1.50zł za tyle ile mi wyszło, ale satysfakcja z dokonania tak zupełnego recyklingu i uniknięcia wykonania transakcji rynkowej jest absolutnie bezcenna. Z resztą cena 0zł jest nieskończenie wiele razy niższa więc procentowo to lepszy zarobek niż na Bitcoinie od 2009. Poza tym zrobienie czegoś dosłownie ze śmiecia dodaje mi kilka punktów punka.
