Blender 4.5 LTS is out, because apparently, 3D artists needed yet another reason to procrastinate with features they'll never use 🎨🔧. Meanwhile, the download page looks like a buffet of confusion with more options than a coffee shop menu ☕️📜.

Feel burned out and of course I start yet another personal project........
This time its motion graphics (and an 3D animation on it as well but that's still not decided yet), but it's gonna have to go the back burner for now if I want to keep it together.
(Warning: Loud sounds)

To celebrate Blender 4.0, here's a render done with Blender 4.0 but without actually using any of its new features.

#Blender4 Released with Support for #AMD #RDNA2 and #RDNA3 #APU
Highlights of Blender 4.0 include Node tools as an accessible way for expanding Blender and customizing tools without requiring Python. With this change, Blender now provides specific nodes for controlling tool-specific data and enables geometry node groups to be used as operators from the 3D view menus. Moreover, the “Add Modifier” menu has been changed to a standard menu that includes geometry node assets.

Honestly what might be happening here is that the image has more contrast. At 0.0 exposure some parts of the image appear similar, but shadows are a lot darker. If that's the case, it's possible that better contrast be achieved with AgX as compared to Filmic, while still looking natural. I don't feel like playing with any of the "Looks", but flipping through them quick it seems possible to recover some of the darker areas that way instead. :blobcatshrug:

However, this darker look is easily compensated by adjusting the exposure. For this render a 0.6 exposure with AgX seemed to be a close match to Filmic exp 0.0, but with a better, more natural look.
Overall, this seems to be a subtle but great improvement.

Weird… I upgraded to #Blender4 and now "render viewport image" doesn't seem to work in render mode for the model I've been working on that I began in 3.6. 🤔
Oh well… I can always do a proper render or an actual screenshot. Those are still working.

Oh. My. Gosh. #Blender 4s #Nodetools adds CUSTOM GIZMOS!!!
I can't wait to make some weird controller for moving stuff, or see what people make. Considering rig controls xD
(found this out from Cartesian Caramels madness https://www.youtube.com/live/ipGNbUDb6ZE?si=-orOr3p-TXG79LQb)
