Highlights of Blender 4.0 include Node tools as an accessible way for expanding Blender and customizing tools without requiring Python. With this change, Blender now provides specific nodes for controlling tool-specific data and enables geometry node groups to be used as operators from the 3D view menus. Moreover, the “Add Modifier” menu has been changed to a standard menu that includes geometry node assets.

  6. Honestly what might be happening here is that the image has more contrast. At 0.0 exposure some parts of the image appear similar, but shadows are a lot darker. If that's the case, it's possible that better contrast be achieved with AgX as compared to Filmic, while still looking natural. I don't feel like playing with any of the "Looks", but flipping through them quick it seems possible to recover some of the darker areas that way instead. :blobcatshrug:

  7. However, this darker look is easily compensated by adjusting the exposure. For this render a 0.6 exposure with AgX seemed to be a close match to Filmic exp 0.0, but with a better, more natural look.

Overall, this seems to be a subtle but great improvement.

  8. Trying out the new AgX color space View Transform in Blender. I so think it looks more natural than Filmic, but it's quite a bit darker.
