  1. I'm sure lots of #photographers out there use #darktable what do people think? Can you get the results you want? Do you have a favourite workflow? I used #sigmoid to process this #photo but i normally use #filmic I also used #ColorLookUpTable to apply #FujiVelviaEmulation It gives it a very #analogue feel, but sometimes when you look at things too long it becomes really hard to tell what is too much. I think I quite like it, but maybe tomorrow I'll be less sure.

  6. A free AgX, Filmic & Creative LUTs pack for DaVinci Resolve.

    * 23 view transform LUTs baked from the Pixelmanager OCIO config and kindly shared by Joe Genco.

    * Meant to be used with the EXRs (rendered in Blender or other 3d software).

  7. These are my simple test, from left top to right down the image are with color tone mapping: Standard, #Khronos, #AgX, and #Filmic.

  8. I would say that this new color system is the one I prefer, it works very well for what I need and for now it is better than the other two, #Filmic and #AgX. #tone #mapping #Khronos #PBR Neutral #tone mapper. #b3d #Blender #Blender3D

  9. #Meetup has been acquired by #BendingSpoons, whose business model is to buy solid apps from others, then “optimize” their monetization by pushing exorbitant weekly auto-renewing subscriptions (e.g., #Filmic, #Focos, #Remini, #Splice, #30DayFitness) and/or suddenly nerfing their free plans to get people to pony up for said subscriptions (#Evernote).

I expect Meetup to suffer similar #enshittification.

  14. Honestly what might be happening here is that the image has more contrast. At 0.0 exposure some parts of the image appear similar, but shadows are a lot darker. If that's the case, it's possible that better contrast be achieved with AgX as compared to Filmic, while still looking natural. I don't feel like playing with any of the "Looks", but flipping through them quick it seems possible to recover some of the darker areas that way instead. :blobcatshrug:

  15. However, this darker look is easily compensated by adjusting the exposure. For this render a 0.6 exposure with AgX seemed to be a close match to Filmic exp 0.0, but with a better, more natural look.

Overall, this seems to be a subtle but great improvement.

  16. Trying out the new AgX color space View Transform in Blender. I so think it looks more natural than Filmic, but it's quite a bit darker.

  17. #MartinScorsese is wrong. Big budget #superhero movies can be #cinema.

#BlackPanther and #WakandaForever are as cinematic (more, truly) as any #Scorsese film in terms of themes; story; #costumes; #music; topical, cultural, and historical accuracy and relevance, etc.

#Méilès used state of the art special effects, and a technically different recording medium than Marty's used.

Grand spectacle, image manipulation, and new recording mediums and capabilities are foundational to the #filmic #arts.

  18. Mit Version 7 verabschiedet sich Filmic vom Einmalkauf, die Kamera-App erfordert nun ein Abo. Bestandskunden können auf eine Alt-Version umsatteln.

  19. Starting to work with the #filmic module in #darktable. Quite a steep learning curve, but I am already starting to like my results.
