I think the time has come to sell my #Beepy (née #Beepberry). I pre-ordered it and have had it for a few months but it's just not a device I use very much.
It's practically brand new and has a Raspberry Pi Zero 2W with it and a number of 3D printed cases that @aaronage kindly made for me.
I'm in the UK and I'm hoping I can find someone who would like to buy it fairly locally. Please DM me if you're interested!

I really need a usecase for my beeper. Already found a case: Original PalmPilot leather case fits great

I’ve got a #beepberry. It’s neat, but I’d like to leave the pi’s normal hdmi+usb console alone, and instead use the beepberry’s display and keyboard as a separate pty (or whatever). Anyone heard of such a thing?
(I’d also love full documentation of the i2c/SPI/&c interfaces the pi0 sees, so I can stop running Linux on the thing.)

Looks like @sqfmi renamed their #Beepberry to just #Beepy. Did they get into legal trouble with #Blackberry? 🤔
Maybe they just decided it's better to spin their own keyboard, which I would agree with!
In any way, I really want one. I can't wait to figure out all the compatibility issues with my #BananaPiZeroM2 / #BananaPi. It would be cool if it works though.

My #Beepy (née #Beepberry) arrived over the weekend and I *thought* I had all the parts to put it together after work.
Not so fast! I pilfered the Micro SD card out of my Zero W because the card in my nephew's R4 DS cart crapped out.
So now my options are:
- Order a new (pack of) SD card(s) online and wait a few more days.
- Take the SD card out of my Flipper, back it up, and then order a replacement for it.
- Haul my ass down to Target and pay market price. -
It’s been 69 days since I ordered my #beepberry and it seems they’ve quietly rebranded to #beepy. I wonder if the ghost of RIM’s legal department came after them.
I think my preorder *just* missed the end of the last batch. Has anyone got theirs or a source of updates on the project?

Observation: the #beepberry can run the (Python-based, CLI TUI) toot client, but I think all of the web ones for #Mastodon require JS, so text-based browsers like lynx don’t work.
If only I knew someone who had previously hosted and maintained a lightweight, HTML only, UI for another social network at some point in the past, *and* could persuade that person to consider a similar thing for #Mastodon and other #Fediverse sites e.g. Lemmy…

If I didn't own a #Unihertz Titan Slim and Pocket I'd probably get the #BeepBerry because I love a good clickity keyboard.
