"Das demonstriert Arthur am Beispiel der QWERTY-Tastatur. Im
19. Jahrhundert gab es bei Schreibmaschinen eine reiche Auswahl an unterschiedlichen Tastaturdesigns. Bei der meistverbreiteten Variante waren die Buchstaben schlicht in alphabetischer Reihenfolge angebracht. 1873 allerdings hat ein gewisser Christopher Latham Sholes Probleme mit seiner Schreibmaschine, weil sich bei schnellem Tippen häufig die Tastenarme miteinander verhaken. Er tüftelt so lange an dem Gerät herum, bis er die Tasten so angeordnet hatte, dass sie sich weniger häufig in die Quere kommen konnten. Dieses Design wies die heute immer noch gängige QWERTY-Anordnungs auf und wurde schließlich von der New Yorker Firma Remington als Standarddesign für ihre günstige, massenproduzierte Schreibmaschine übernommen. Die weite Verbreitung der Remington-Schreibmaschinen führt wiederum dazu, dass Sekretär*innen auf der QWERTY-Tastatur ausgebildet werden. Inzwischen hat sich das Problem der einander blockierenden Tastenarme zwar längst anderweitig gelöst, doch das Design ist geblieben. Die ineinandergreifenden Abhängigkeiten informieren sich gegenseitig und bilden so die Etappen auf dem Pfad der weiteren Entwicklung bis hin zu den Computertastaturen auf unseren Schreibtischen."Dieses Beispiel mit den Tastaturbelegungen finde ich nach wie vor jedes mal wenn ich daran denke komplett absurd. Es liegt allerdings eine gewisse Ironie darin, dass dieses Grund-Problem zweier sich in die Quere Kommender Tastenarme mit der Erfindung des Smartphones wieder aufgekommen ist - nur eben jetzt mit zwei Daumen, die einander beim tippen nicht in die Quere kommen sollen.

Po przeczytaniu https://mastodon.online/@mwichary/115110119665371604 zacząłem sobie trochę myśleć, czy dla zabawy nie spróbować innego układu klawiatury.
Oczywiście, nie rozważałem go po to, by "szybciej pisać". A to z dwóch powodów:
1. Podstawowym warunkiem szybszego pisania jest stosowanie się do właściwego ułożenia dłoni, palców, itp. Ja wiem, że moje nawyki nie są najlepsze, i nie mam dostatecznej motywacji, żeby je zmieniać — patrz punkt drugi.
2. Przynajmniej w moim przypadku, przy kreatywnym pisaniu głównym ograniczeniem jest nie szybkość naparzania w klawisze, ale układania myśli. A poprawki to najczęściej zmiany myśli, a nie literówki.
W tej sytuacji nie ma sensu wkładać większego wysiłku w naukę nowego układu na pamięć. Tak więc najbardziej logicznym wyborem jest przetestować go na ekranie dotykowym, gdzie zmiana widocznego układu klawiszy jest bezproblemowa.
Wówczas jednak zacząłem zastanawiać się: piszę przede wszystkim gestami, i zauważyłem, że pisanie gestami jest znacznie łatwiejsze, kiedy litery składające się na słowo są rozstrzelone po klawiaturze, niż kiedy są blisko siebie i klawiatura często ma problem rozpoznać właściwe słowo. Skoro ergonomiczne układy skupiają się na ułożeniu częstych klawiszy obok siebie, to czy pisanie gestami nie będzie trudniejsze?
No i fakt, nawet w FAQ Colemaka jest wprost napisane, że nie jest polecany na telefony. Ciekawa to historia, że po tylu latach krytyki #QWERTY okazuje się, że nowa technologia potrzebuje właśnie takiego układu klawiszy.

I live in America and am on Mint Mobile. I am totally blind and use an external keyboard. I own a Galaxy A15, and while it works well, it's simply too large and wide for my needs, especially when I need to hold it to use Seeing AI (for scanning printed materials). My specifications shouldn't be too difficult to find, and yet, they are.
Android 14 or 15. Technically, I can go as low as 12, but I would really rather not.
Upgradable if possible.
Comes with Talkback pre-installed (or able to have someone install it). I have also heard of MicroG, an alternative to Google services that allows such apps to be installed, so that could work as well.
No larger than the iPhone SE 2022, unless by a tiny amount. Smaller is fine.
Headphone jack.I am considering the Jelly Max, the Fonepia Q10, and the Minimal Phone. Has anyone here tried any of these in the United States? I don't think the Max has a headphone jack, but as much as I want one, I would be willing to sacrifice it if necessary. I know almost nothing about the Q10. The Minimal contains a real qwerty keyboard, so I wouldn't need to carry one. I don't care what they do with the screen, since I can't see it.
Am I missing any other good phones? I would like to keep this undder $350 at the most, preferably under $300 (Minimal might cost more, but could be worth it).
