@llamasoft_ox I had the "tenkeyless" version of this, the Model M Space Saver, for a while but they keys were juuuust a little sticky sometimes in their action, so I sold it back to eBay whence it came. Was lovely, tho.

I think my wife has bought me, what looks like, a vintage #ModelM in like-new condition, still in thr original box.

Turns out that IBM Model M is a Silver Label and is quite in demand... who knew (lots of people except me!).

I stripped it and cleaned it. Thinking about getting a Model M to USB conversion board for it.

His/Hers desk setup in 2017. My laptop was a ThinkPad X250 running OpenBSD, attached to a 2560x1440 Dell monitor. Hers was a 2016 Rose Gold MacBook Retina running whatever macOS, and a Mac mini 2012 attached to the same model monitor. This was our townhouse in Ecuador. The keyboard is a Model M SSK from 1997. I'm slowly inching closer to my poor man's imitation of an IBM Industrial SSK since the real thing is too rare and expensive. Maybe one day I will finish it off with the industrial dark gray chassis, but I'm already pretty happy with this.

Finally managed to convert my IBM Model M to USB using the nuess0r ctrl-M!
I am satisfied with the result, it works like a charm :)

I’ll be running it through a KVM into my 486 and Pentium 3 machines.. once I get the desk space to do so.

got one #modelm from eBay and the the seller claims full keys are working but I when tested it acted funny and figured there was beverage leaked into the membrane long ago, so I have to go for take apart and bolt modding to replace it, after some efforts the keyboards is working fine again, and I realized for an actual PS/2 keyboard I can press any key on it to power on my PC

after some cleaning its not that sticky anymore 🤩 #modelm #modellpflege

Two weeks later and I am still luxuriating in the experience every time I sit down to start typing on this thing.

It's like I had years to become accustomed to how much more slow and tentative I was when typing on the more modern keyboards that rattled and shook and (very slightly) moved around on my computer table.

Now my typing speed is up by at least 30% because the keys are always PRECISELY where they were the last time my fingers came down.

Pure joy.
