I'm having interesting problems texting someone in Canada. A LOT of texts in both directions just...don't get through. And then some do. I've done a little research, but so far there's no explanation. It's definitely happening, though! Has anyone else had this problem?

Alright, so just a little thing since I'm a curious creature! Why has voice chat been going down so much these days? It still seems to be pretty prevalent in the blind community for obvious reasons, but everywhere else I see it seems that creatures would rather text than talk. It kinda makes me sad, ya know. I just feel like it's so hard to make a connection over text alone. How can you truly understand how someone feels when you cannot get any indication of how they feel other than what they say. I am not accusing anyone of lying or anything, but sometimes we don't know how to express something, and the voice can tell a lot more than I think a lot of creatures realize. So I'm wondering what other creatures have to say about this. Why do y'all think this is? Also, if any creatures are like me and prefer to talk rather than text, I am always open, feel free to reach out anyway you can find me. I have stopped using SMS. I stopped about a decade ago. It's only centralised banks and online shopping sites still using this technology that dates back to the 70s. Yeesh!

I am attempting to de-#Google my digital life (as much as is possible at the moment). I got myself an #Android #MobilePhone that does not have Google services installed on it, and I am using #FDroid, #AuroraStore, #APKPure, etc. to get the apps, and using the #AppBrain #AdDetector and #DuckDuckGo's #App #Tracking #Protection (#Beta built into their mobile browser).

I am doing my best to use #minimal apps, and only getting ones that are not security focused when necessary. I am not logging into Google, or any other #BigSocial/ #BigData services except when necessary.

My question is, are there any #SMS / #Texting apps that allow you to login on the #Web and #sync messages to your phone (even if only on the same network), and a #keyboard that has #VoiceToText that does not use Google or #Microsoft? I am currently using #SwiftKey, but only until I figure out the #T9 app I am using with the KB (HYBRID phone running Android 11).
