How to become a shitty company.
On the left: a design from 2009, where removing the display to access the internals means releasing magnets.
On the right: a design from 2013, where achieving the exact same thing means cutting through adhesive strips—which then have to be replaced every time you open the machine.

Mac from the garbage is actually an iMac from 2009 (A1225). For now it will have Snow Leopard and Linux Mint. Later I’ll replace the old hdd with ssd and add 4gb of ram. Kids will enjoy it.

I’ve been hearing stories about people finding Macs in the garbage for years. Last week was finally my lucky day. I’ve only had time to check that it boots — it asks for a keyboard. Soon I’ll check the rest. It will make a great drawing station for the kids.

He vuelto a intentar poner en marcha uno de los iPod classic 5th gen que tengo. Después de mucho tiempo salía el mensaje de poca batería para quedarse con el logo de la manzana. Tras cambiar piezas con otro consigo ponerlo en modo disco y restaurarlo pero nada, vuelve a quedarse en la manzana.
Análisis: disco muerto.
Solución: Poner un disco flash.

J’ai acheté un iMac G3 hors d’usage exprès pour ça. Avec de la colle, une cale en bois, un plaid , le radiateur, des croquettes et des câlins, minou a fini par adopter le petit nid rétro.
