  1. #BundleOfHolding has a quick deal (only 7 days) up for #ApocalypseKeys from #EvilHat, a #PbtA game that is inspired by monsters fighting monsters (Hellboy, Doom Patrol).

This is yet another Kickstarter I backed and haven't had time to chew on, but I loved the idea of and $10 is a sweet deal for anyone curious.

  2. We had the last session of our #apocalypseKeys game today. As per tradition, about half the team at least *thought* of defecting to the Harbinger trying to doom the world, but we prevailed in the end.
Sadly, we played pretty late, so we didn't have much time for debriefing stuff and will have to do that via text afterwards.

That being said, it was a great game. Also, these were our first rolls of the evening (the ideal thing to roll in this system is 8-10). My personal highlight of the game was my character gaining the trust of a biomechanic door. And trapping a transformed former ally in a book when they attacked us, because I guess that's just what characters of mine do in weird magical settings.

  6. Something that just occurred to me about #ApocalypseKeys: The fact that no one uses permanent stats and abilities are mostly defined by your Powers of Darkness makes it really easy to grab moves from other playbooks without having to roll them on your worst stats.
In #UrbanShadows, our Imp was in fact an Incubus and the Vamp's Eternal Hunger move would have been perfect, but it's rolled on a stat the Imp gets at -1.
In ApocalypseKeys, I noticed that my Surge will likely generate a lot of bonds for others and act as a knowledge repository, so the Shade's move I'm the Expert Here would be quite useful and appropriate and I can just take it... once I get the necessary XP...

  7. Yesterday, I had my first game of #ApocalypseKeys with @Frank82R, @catrinity, @waytooshiny and @tinofalke. Their crew of Lethe (Summoned), Dio (Last) and Alex(ander the Great, Found) was rounded out by Vernon Czehowsky (Surge), former archivist, who will save the world with the power of order and bureaucracy! (Or maybe doom it - we'll see.)

Since the session was pretty short, we didn't get too far past the briefing, but my favorite moment was when I unintentionally managed to piggyback three moves onto one another just by having a friendly conversation. Leading to...

Me: So it says here that you can take a Condition to-
    Tino: I do it!

Either way, it was a wonderful game so far and I can't wait to continue it next month.
