You can tell that I am spending a lot of time lugging my Stonetop RPG book one around because the image of the front cover is slowly fading away as I handle it. I'm about 1/6th of the way trough it.
I am currently reading through all the playbooks. The special character moves are fantastic. I just keep thinking that I can't wait to see what happens when they are used in games.

_Hearts of Wulin_ fixates on the **promise** you wish you hadn’t made. Wuxia melodrama requires commitments, but the relationship structure in the game gives you a reason that keeping the promise is emotionally disastrous. Conflicting obligations and feelings aren't just backstory, but exactly what the game wants.

Mechanics of _Thirsty Sword Lesbians_ repeatedly transform attraction and emotional interest into actionable relationships. The game’s moves expect emotional and physical attraction to alter the course of conflicts. But the game also concerns other types of **desire**: belonging, recognition, identity, purpose.

Going to be running one shots of Odin’s Eye 1 & 2 this weekend as part of NSR’s online camp weekend. I’ve got room for more players. Games will be 6pm Pacific, one Sat, one Sun.
One of the things I love about praxis is how you can get different stories from the same set based on what roles are picked.
If someone plays the First Lieutenant but there’s no Captain, you get a story about someone stepping up to leadership during a crisis.

Eben noch bei #QuinnsQest den Review gesehen, und schon sind sie hier. Wobei ich im 13-Jahre-Entstehungsprozess an günstiger Stelle eingestiegen bin. Zwei dicke Bücher zu #Stonetop. Was mir gut gefällt: der build-your-village Ansatz (Beyond the Wall for adults) und die magischen Gegenstände. #PbtA

Ich habe in meinem ganzen Leben noch nie #dungeonsanddragons gespielt. Ich habe zwar ne Starter Box und Regelwerke aber bloß um die zu haben. Bin ich ein schlechter Mensch? Habe ich etwas verpasst?
Tatsächlich spiele ich bloß Indiespiele. #dsa und #shadowrun nur mal mit 13. Dafür Nudeln wir hier jede Woche Zeug zwischen #fate #PbtA und selbst entwickeltes Zeug durch. Neben vielen Perlen wie #electricbastionland #Spire #LiminalHorror. Ich finde das rockt viel mehr. Oder bin ich nur strange? -

It may have taken five years, but I'm glad I made that $60 Kickstarter pledge back then
It's a really cool game. I'm enjoying reading it and I'm looking forward to playing it. There is a lot to the game and awesome setting. I can see it being worth the price, but I couldn't afford that price right now.

Gestern noch ein kurzes Kapitel über Technologie geschrieben. Eine Erläuterung, welche Gedanken ins Design von Pounce & Pandemonium eingeflossen sind. Das Ganze im Teil über die Character Playbooks, weil es um die verfügbaren Items und Abilities geht. Wird also vielleicht nochmal wann anders nen ähnlichen Abschnitt geben. Die Planung hört aber im Moment noch noch bei den ersten Playtests auf.

Den nächsten Block abgearbeitet. Die Playbooks haben jetzt alle eine einheitliche Beschreibung, es gibt eine Liste von Archetypen, also Beispiele fürs initiale Skillen, und die Blades-typische Liste an "Friends and Foes".
Als nächstes auf der Liste stehen die Items - allgemeine und Playbook-spezifische.
Das alles packe ich übrigens in eine große YAML-Datei, aus der dann der Content gerendert wird.

Habe gerade einen zähen Block abgearbeitet - endlich eine erste Fassung der Special Abilities für die Playbooks in meinem Forged-In-The-Dark-Fork Pounce and Pandemonium fertig.
Das macht Spaß, aber auf halbem Weg habe ich gemerkt, dass ich gerne viel neu schreiben möchte. Das Edwardianische Setting for Blades in the Dark bringt einen ganz anderen Flair, der sich auch in deren Playbooks spiegelt.
P&P ist vielleicht auch bisschen weniger düster... -

Someone said that “if you can run Keep on the Borderlands with it, it’s OSR”.
I’m pretty sure that’s not true. I of course immediately tried to think of the most story game way to run B2. My first thought is reverse B2 using No Country for Old Kobolds.
What’s the most indie way you would run the classic Keep on the Borderlands?

TFW you're uncovering a pile of character sheets and find your Stonetop character from ca. 2022....
Meredith was the local tavern keeper. She'd lost her arm in a fight a long time ago, and lived in a little utility room in the tavern. Her Crew were basically the roustabout "regulars" who came in for a rowdy pint every night.
I remember playing her, but had completely forgotten it was a #stonetop game. And I don't remember who I played with, just that it was online.

Working through more of my backlog and skim/read through Masks, the first PbtA game I've really looked at in detail. Super cool game with a lot of flavor and mechanics for pushing story and characters forwards! Unfortunately not really that into superheroes so dunno if I'd want to do a campaign with it or find a different PbtA style game in a setting I prefer.
