I just found out about Sprigs & Kindling, a fanzine for #CarvedFromBrindlewood games like #BrindlewoodBay, #TheBetween, #TheSiltVerses, #PublicAccess -- and it looks like they're also planning a #TrophyRPG issue -- I'm excited to dig in! https://sprigsandkindling.com

I watched it two days later, I was hooked instantly.

Bon, c'est succinct par moments, il manque clairement des finitions, des conseils, un mystère (qui sera sur une fiche à part, avec une mise en page adéquate), mais c'est ce qu'il me fallait comme support pour les playtests et pour montrer autre chose que mes feuilles de note.

When I began DMing I tried to railroad and not railroad at the same time. I tried to guide into scenes as good as I could without forcing a lot.

And I went into the other point and I finished into #PbtA and then I learnt how not to prepare and I got used and comfy by not preparing.

But I felt not so right sometimes.

I felt lost, but could not say how or why.

Ways to prepare not tight at all, but having some kind of prep.

And it clicked si well. I have DM'd things like #BlackSwordHack by facing the prep as a Trophy incursion, for exemple.

And that is the greatest change I've got: learning how to prep as it fits with my DMing

Hi! I'm Steph, LGBTQ+ 23 y/o indie game writer/designer and enormous nerd. I'm only sort of new to mastodon; had a mastodon.social account for a while but didn't use it too terribly much. Very excited to be here and see all the awesome creativity that flows through the veins of this hobby!

Currently, I'm working on two longer term projects. One is a #CarvedFromBrindlewood game based on #RIFTS, and the other is a futurepunk novel I'm writing based on my #TheSprawl universe!

#ArkhamHerald is the new game announced by #TheGauntlet just recently on their patreon.

It will feature investigative journalists in the 1970s, with an underlying occult conspiracy, and unspeakable beings in the shadows.
It will be a #CarvedFromBrindlewood game, meaning emergent mystery and #PBTA mechanics.

I'm very hyped.
