"What Mr. Trump does not seem to understand is that the global standing of the United States benefits when our leaders attempt to live up to the highest American ideals. Mr. Trump disdains those ideals and cares mostly about himself. Along the way, he is damaging other countries and sapping American power."

If one is trying to not use Microsoft Office but remain compatible with OOXML, it's the wrong goal. OOXML is an overly complicated, Frankenstein file standard.

The best and technically superior option is one that was designed with usability and end user in mind... and that's ODF.

Want digital sovereignty? Then really dump MS.

And ODF is easier to spell too!

  7. Outrageous Federal Raid on Ilhan Omar: Qualitative Step Toward One-Man Rule - Editorial
    world-outlook.com/2026/10/22/o
    October 22, 2026

The vindictive raid by the Department of Homeland Security on the home of Minnesota congresswoman #IlhanOmar on October 12, 2026, was a dangerous escalation of #Trump’s drive toward one-man rule. It was an outrageous attack on basic democratic rights in the United States. A judge had signed a warrant for the search, but that did not make it legal or just. As the Wall Street Journal reported, “The Trump administration’s investigation into Rep. Ilhan Omar (Democrat, Minnesota) is aimed at building a case to strip her of her #US citizenship and ultimately deport her.” Protests are needed to demand: ‘End Investigation of Congresswoman Now!’

Working people and our allies must recognize the gravity of the danger of incipient fascism now staring us in the face.
