Some compatibility issues with Open Document format are there #Microsoft ? I think that's an issue your end and and not my end. Thank goodness I can download it and work in #libreOffice , as should everyone else. #documentfreedom #ODF

I've just listened to a video blog from @heiseonline on alternative #office applications. Quite interesting, though not news for me personally.
While the everybody talks (for good reason) about compatibility with #MsOffice, I'm always missing the equally impotant aspect of compatibility with #ODF (as native with #LibreOffice and others). Especially as it's the mandated standard format for collaboration within several jurisdictions.

Wikipedia has a pretty good list showing all media file formats, their history, and which are proprietary, or open source. The Open Document is on there (ODF), but it's just one of many formats, that together, establish the foundation for Digital Sovereignty.

@nextcloud When projects focus first on compatibility with proprietary standards, they legitimize those standards at the expense of BETTER open standards.
If Digital Sovereignty is truly the goal, then effective implementation of ODF (and others) should be the primary focus.

Lange hat es gedauert, kann man sich anschauen um weitere Infos zum #TDF #Libreoffice #Collabora Steit zu bekommen. Leider Themenmäßig nicht gut aufbereitet und viel blabla. Kann auch sein dass dieses Format dafür nicht geeignet ist, weil zu komplex und verworren sowas ist.
