Привет, Хабр! Сегодня хочу поделиться с вами как я произвожу установку и настройку arch linux. Довольно не большая статья вышла. Пропушу моменты настройка Bios и установочной флешки. We've identified a flaw in the #ArchLinux Wiki on #TransparentTorification.
If the #DNS queries are sent direct to your #router then the following rule/line in their #iptables setup will permit that **before** the DNS query is redirected to 5353.
--ipv4 -A OUTPUT -d 192.168.0.0/16 -j RETURN
The above line must be moved down two lines, to below the "udp --dport 53" line.

Anyone have any idea what's up with this #archlinux vm? After booting into a rescue system I can chroot into it just fine, reinstall #syslinux (in BIOS mode), reinstall the kernel, rerun mkinitcpio and even did a forced fsck including badblocks check over night. Nothing helped.

Ciao, qualcuno in questi giorni ha avuto problemi su Arch per aggiornare Virt-Manager? Beh io si😅
virt-install:/usr/share/virt-manager/virtinst/__pycache__/__init__.cpython-313.pyc è già presente nel filesystem
Seguito da un'altra trentina di altri percorsi che segnalavano tutti che i vari file erano già presenti nel filesystem per cui l'aggiornamento si interrompeva.
Non permettendomi nemmeno di reinstallare il pacchetto ho pensato di fare questo:sudo rm /usr/share/virt-manager/* -r
Ho poi potuto aggiornare, reinstallare virt-manager e sembra che tutto funzioni correttamente.
Non so se ho scelto la strada migliore o quantomeno una strada corretta e immagino che sicuramente ci sarebbero potuti essere altri modi......in ogni caso condivido🙂

I finally got my #ArchLinux disk encryption upgraded to #LUKS2. It certainly was a challenge because #grub does not seem to play nicely with it but I did get it to work. Grub has a bug in it where passphrases entered from the keyboard need to use PBDKF2 and key files need to use Argon2id. Once I figured this out, everything worked smoothly.

I did a little #mockup for #gnome web / #epiphany. I honestly wish there would be good vertical tab-list support.
I used the new #libadwaita and calendar as inspiration. Also the #ArchLinux wiki for clickbait 🤡️

I was lied to about the difficulty of #arch. I switched to #EndeavourOSLinux after almost a year on #nobara and after getting all my software installed everything just works boringly fine but without all the jank nobara had.

CW: implied drugs (wisdom teeth removal-related)
Having something stop working after a medical-related body update like wisdom teeth and getting double vision and having to fix it yourself is the real #ArchLinux user experience. I had to force my eyes back together after I had my wisdom teeth out, probably because of something they gave me (my mom originally had to teach me how to cross my eyes when I was 6).
