  6. Just finished helping my grandfather solve some of his issues with . He didn't know how to create lists of contacts. I quickly set this up and closed maybe 1000 tabs (I don't know how he opened that many). I was also surprised to see he still uses , although all his extensions were gone. Reinstalled , and . Now he's fully open sourced again. He even mentioned that he thought about sponsoring Thunderbird.

  11. fwupd is such a catchy name.

"Have you updated your firmware recently?"

"Yes, and fwupd made it so simple."

Rolls right off the tongue. It is an amazing tool though.

  12. High-severity security vulnerability found in [insert smart home device].

Could you imagine explaining to a person in 1980 that in 40 years, we'd all have to worry about someone monitoring us through our lamp or spying through our fridge. The smart home is a STUPID idea, always has been, always will be. I've experienced the smart home. We have smart home devices. The smartest home device is a simple light switch.

  13. When you make a new programming language or tool, you can choose any name you want, like cake, or summer, or dog, or party...

    Developers: mold, Rust, dust, Ratpoison...

  14. It has been raining so much over here lately. Many fields are flooded and some neighbors even have to pump water from inside their houses. Maybe it's time to sacrifice another child... I saw that in a movie once and it seemed to work well.

  15. Finished "Terror in Resonance" and it shot straight past many of my favorite shows all the way into my top 5. I love the quiet scenes and the music in this show, one of the best being the ferris wheel scene. The show understands that not every emotional scene needs dialog, and instead gives you great song after great song. The characters also seem real, unlike most anime with the stupid anime tropes.

  16. If anyone is looking for a fun to kill some time every now and then, give a try. It's a bullet hell, but you are the bullet hell, and it gets crazy. Normally you shoot, but I managed to cause a chain reaction with lightning last run which didn't end until the end of the 20 minute run. Every killed enemy made more bullets, which killed more enemies, which made more bullets... Great PC benchmark! Games that don't set limits are the best.

  17. Cowboy Bebop is incredible. The only bad thing about the show is that there isn't more of it, and there probably never will be.

  18. Page on my college's internal website. First off, sounds like a you problem. Should've made sure your website works everywhere. Second, Google Chrome can go to hell. And third, I'm so glad I'm finishing my studies this year, because this is the worst college I've ever seen. The people who work there (except for the ones teaching the courses) are completely tech illiterate. :blobwhat:
