C has been acting like a d#ck towards me tonight. I’m doing everything I can to support her through this suicidal phase and yet she still makes digs at me. I don’t deserve to be treated like this. I’m knackered, stressed and strained. I’m left wondering how much of her behaviour can be excused because of her illness vs her just sometimes being a bad person.

I think that’s the third time we’ve been in for that reason. The observations were all good and so while I’m reassured, C is still on edge. About 14 weeks in, C reluctantly decided to start on 40mg of #fluoxetene / #Prozac to get her out of her #mentalhealth crisis. She’s now thinking about upping it, but worries about the impact on baby.

2/ Cs #mentalhealth has taken a hammering with all the worry. She was admitted to hospital for a week, after feeling suicidal. We’re taking #antenatal classes and during the last session the leader brought up #stillbirth and mistakenly told us that 3-4% of babies delivered after 24 weeks will be stillborn. A quick google revealed it was actually around 0.3%, which is #anxiety fuelling enough.

This is exactly like #pda stepson Zs behaviour during a meltdown: a complete inability to do what she’s told; physical and verbal abuse to resist; trying to push all of the buttons to make the officers lose their sh!t. I relate so hard to the officers’ predicament. When Z has a meltdown like this it’s so hard. Do you think this is a pda meltdown or just the behaviour of a ‘spoiled brat that’s never been told no’?

1/ #PDA step son got me again last night. He’d been civil after school, then at story time before bed he mentioned something about Mexico City and I replied that it’s a huge city with about 10 million residents. Without missing a beat he said ‘shut up - I wasn’t talking to you’. His mum called him out on it and he said ‘shut up isn’t a swear word’.

C and I have just discovered a thing called #pathologicaldemandavoidance #pda which exactly fits the challenging behaviour we’re trying to cope with with our 9 year old who has #Autism We’re at our wits end - he refuses to do anything (getting out of bed, getting dressed, eating, drinking). He’s also violent and verbally abusive to all of us. This discovery will hopefully enable us to learn more about coping strategies, and connect with others facing similar challenges. #neurodivergence

Great news, the #Amniocentesis result came back as all clear. Doctors still concerned about the initial nuchal translucency reading, and the femur length is small - second percentile, so we have additional growth scans booked. 23 weeks tomorrow.

Had appointment with foetal specialist yesterday and they casually told us our little one has a 1/7 likelihood of #Downsyndrome or some other #chromosomal condition. We were offered an #Amniocentesis which will determine whether or not this is the case. C is really struggling and I’m going through a lot of emotions. Do we really want to know the result? How would it impact us and little one? We’re older parents - is it fair on the unborn child to have to fend for themselves in 40 years time?

Epic #tech #fail. I bought two #onepluspad s for my family. I chose these over #iPad s because #android allows multiple user accounts on a single device. I have 4 kids so problem one is that you can only have 4 users (plus a guest account) per device.
Worse though is the #oneplus implementation of multiple users. The logged in user has to unlock the #tablet and select ‘switch user’ for another user to use the thing. Tough luck when it’s password protected and the logged on user has disappeared.
