Since the two #Ubiquiti #UniFi #AccessPoints disconnected again, I tried more stuff.
- unplugged the APs
- tested and verified cables and switch settings
- changed another device on our home network so that 192.168.1.20 (#UAP default IP) was no longer in use
- bound proxy in front of #UniFiController container to an IP address and route
- ran “set-inform” twice with known good controller address, as apparently two inform addresses are stored by each AP. -

I’m hoping I’ve finally fixed the drop-outs affecting two of my #Ubiquiti #Unifi #AccessPoints. After looking at the logs on the APs, I saw the “inform” URL was getting reset. I couldn’t find any reason for that … but the logs showed one of the changes was to the IP of my main desktop computer. I realized I’d temporarily installed the Unifi app on it, even though I normally use a Unifi controller VM or container. I stopped and removed the desktop controller app, and things are going well so far.

Also, I have problems connecting to the #UniFiController from a browser and the #UniFiApp so there remains a distinct possibility that this setup is not working smoothly yet. Not sure if I got the entire App setup in #TrueNASScale correct, especially with the traffic that is or is not sent through #Traefik.

I set up #UniFiController as an App in #TrueNASSCALE. I don’t know if it the controller is a problem, or if it’s just alerting me to the fact that two of my APs are constantly disconnecting/reconnecting, or a bit of both. Maybe I need to downgrade the firmware on the APs to see if that helps.

Of course, now that I’ve laboriously set up my #homelab #StepCA #CertificateAuthority, I am finding that #Pfsense and the #TrueNASScale #TrueCharts apps for #Traefik and #CertManager don’t integrate easily via #ACME custom servers or otherwise. 🤦♂️

Happy that I’ve successfully set up my own local #homelab #x509 and #SSH #CertificateAuthority with #StepCA. I imported a root #CA chain that I generated on my own separately.
From this, I learned that StepCA did not like the human-readable headings — above the “BEGIN CERTIFICATE” statements — in .crt/.pem files that #OpenSSL generated. I don’t know they are called or any CLI option that added them to the #PEM files. However, when I removed the headers, the StepCA server started without error.

I am now really invested in the option of an #AdorableCoinage post-credits scene to the #DogAndPonyShow #CurseOfStrahd #DnD adventure on @TPKill.

As it stands, my current sound board / music needs are closer to what is offered by #KenkuFM + #Discord than #Farrago. That combination does require a bunch of complicated setup, including #AudioHijack and #Loopback — at least if I want to pipe in anything not already handled by KenkuFM.

I missed the announcement of the new #Farrago 2 from #RogueAmoeba. The changes hit some features I do appreciate — but I would have been 100% onboard with this upgrade if it had direct support for #AppleMusic tracks and an iPad client (or iPad version).

I got my computer and its RAID working again. Great!
But:
- Weird problems with sporadic lagging on my #Logitech mouse. Tried different mice and the problem went away.
- Warranty support for both #HighpointTech RAID card and #Corsair RAM has been lacking. Highpoint insists on diagnostics after making it hard to send them. Corsair hasn’t done anything more in 9 days than acknowledge the ticket.
- #Monoprice KVM continues to frustrate with auto-switching to any computer that randomly wakes up. -

My difficulty accessing #XenOrchestra on my #homelab server after fixing the HVM issue appears to have been a problem in #Safari. I realized that I could load the admin UI from Safari on a different device. Clearing site data didn’t help. Relaunching the browser finally resolved it.
