Argh, looks like the end of my current UniFi Network Controller running on #NixOS is now close to inevitable.
They only support now running a full VM appliance - the so-called "UniFi OS Server" for self-hosters instead of just the actual network controller service as standalone component within an existing system.
I feel zero motivation to spin up a VM somewhere for this kind of mutable workloads that elude sane NixOS-based management methods.

Ok, geeked again now that some Aliexpress parts arrived.
Have added a 10Gb SFP in the Lenovo P330 that's my Ubuntu Server Homelab. It was easier to go straight to SPF using a PCIe riser card; then mess around with 2.5Gb ethernet in this device. The fact my office switch had a 10Gb SFP port unused... it made me say why not :)
Now to have fun learning and documenting using a Bonding interface, to make the SFP primary, with the ethernet as backup.

I think it's getting to the point I should be seriously considering a real, proper, big boy rack. (Writing this up makes me think a Homelab tour video is in order).

Row 3 - 3x m90q in proxmox cluster with 64gb RAM each (from the before times) plus 3x 1tb nvme ceph cluster each node has a sfp+ NIC, PiKVM with 4 port switcher (love this thing)

Row 5 - Patch
Row 6 - USW 48 Pro Max (screamin' FB marketplace deal, such an awesome switch)
Row 7 - Unifi NVR

And my #Adguard and #Unifi environment is back to stable; backed up and ready for another foray into a solid #IPv6 setup, with my Telstra modem moving back to bridge mode.
Have just sat down and laid out all my requirements to make sure this is done right... and it's a doozy of a list.
56 items to make sure it's solid as a rock, and there's zero chance for anything to get past my Adguard DNS resolver unless I expressly permit it.

Hab mich ne ganze Zeit mit dem Dingen rumgeschlagen, nachdem ich es aufgebaut hatte. Ständig hing die Verbindung und das Gerät verlor die WLAN-Verbindung.
Turns out: Brother kann nur 2,4GHz, und wenn man ein paralleles 5GHz Netz mit der gleichen SSID hat (wie normale Menschen), dann mag der Drucker das nicht.Unifi sei Dank: 2. Netz mit anderer SSID aufgemacht und auf 2,4GHz sowie den nächsten AP limitiert. Und schon läuft das. War doch ganz einfach!

Well, the only #docker #container refusing to start is my @team #unifi controller throwing that #error 48 in the mongodb.log still and this bugs me so badly. I read that there could be (nah, will be) issues when using #mongodb on a #smb share. When #unmounting and using the remaining files in the bare #mountpoint, unifi starts as expected.
