My Curse of Strahd party, but in a Neon Odyssey-esque setting! I had a ton of fun tweaking all of their designs to fit the vibe of that campaign setting a bit better. It took a bit to decide on the colors though.

Our Barovia is horrific and full of monsters. It is also full of amazing, thoughtful, kind-hearted monster-slayers who can knock a zombie’s block off in a single swing.

Sometimes, player choices mean that a battle of five armies makes its way into your vampire campaign.
It was a fantastic night with amazing story beats: surprise attacks, cameo appearances, death of the innocent, intense emotional exchanges, locked-off comedy frames, and a glorious fight scene culminating in the death of the traitorous PC vampire general.
I have the most amazing players. Special shout out to Jim, whose war game experience made this happen.

Back in the DM’s seat for the first time since before the holidays and schedules and availability and health stuff all went to shit. Seemed like it went all right, which is reassuring. I’m always surprised at where they spend a ton of time and where they spend very little time. But the timing more or less worked out, and now they’re off to have dinner with the big bad, so I guess I’d better get that ready!

There were Evil Speeches of Evil, declarations of love, and proclamations of vengeance. Well-used verbs included conniving, plotting, supporting, sneaking, ransacking, burning, stealing, and running. Fantastic.

14/14 The remaining PCs are checking in with each other, striving to learn to trust again, reforging their emotional boundaries, and about to dive into even more trouble.
I can't say enough good things about these Players. They and their PCs demonstrate high levels of emotional intelligence. They make life harder for themselves to tell better stories. They bite in to everything I can throw at them and demand more. I can't wait to see what happens next.
