  2. Reportback from Pink Knight Press on the greeting Charlie Kirk and TPUSA got at UC Davis last night.

Hundreds of protesters turned out, and they chased off the handful of Proud Boys who showed up, presumably to try to instigate and intimidate as per usual.

  3. the only reason Trump has gone after foreign students is because Biden attacked the #StudentSpring while both Clintons idly watched and called antisemitic anybody calling out zionists for their gleeful support of #Gaza #Palestinian #genocide

and Bill Clinton gave us Putin, peddling globalization as a capitalist kumbaya and not the gringo, corporatist fascism that it is.

anybody yassing HRC and any Clinton these days need to take all the damn seats and STFU

#Counterpoint : Encouraging all Americans ( and everyone else ) to switch to #ElectricVehicles

  5. I was expecting @jaykuo to be the first to point this out, as he brilliantly did with the Justice Jackson's move to force a time limit on the SNAP stay order, but instead he got carried away by Ezra Levin's #incandid rage.

    Thankfully, #HCR got this: heathercoxrichardson.substack.

tl;dr: Democrats just traded shutdown vote in the Senate for a now inevitable #EpsteinFiles vote in the House, and another budget fight in January—with filibuster intact—and maybe even another ACA vote. GOP got had, y'all.

  6. @jaykuo

BTW, didn't all these #MAGA types declare they would stop watching football because of the #ColinKaepernick #TakeAKnee thing?

What are they doing still watching football?

  8. @jaykuo does NOT change the fact that some D voters decided that a "protest vote" or a protest NOT VOTING would do anything other than hurt all of us.

We know what the #MAGAts would do, but I will never ever again forgive a protest voter for third party, as long as I live in the US.

The day #DisasterDon was re-elected, some T****-loving family friends from NY called me here in #Texas b/c they were sure I'd share their excitement.

    I told them I was "horrified". 😱

Now, a year later, I never imagined how much worse it would be than even I feared.

  10. @jaykuo Well, the #Trump version -- #AffirmativeAction for unqualified white people -- is definitely a problem.

  11. "There’s also #DOGE, which is now embedded across multiple agencies but will be without a central figure like #Musk to lead it and protect its members... vulnerable to political retribution, especially if the #GOP in the #House decide not to oppose congressional subpoenas... Indeed, the DOGE dudes could become useful #scapegoats for when things go off the rails with #government services and the #economy."

  12. Sound advice on mitigating the vicarious trauma that can come with open-source research on awful stuff.

The piece focuses on war and violence, but this applies to work on contentious politics, too.

A few ways this regularly arises in my work on CCC:

    * Watching clips of police violence
    * Watching clips from vigils (for me, esp. ones with grieving parents)
    * Reading or watching hate screeds
