  1. Oh did we silence the Left and then Voters felt they had no option but to Protest Vote against the status quo?

Such a 'Black Swan' event, nobody could have foreseen it..../s

  2. The UK Protest Vote is exactly the same as the US Protest Vote and appealing to them will have the same result as it did in the US

  3. ReformUK voters are Protest Voters, are Trump Voters.

They are not serious people, they are driven by spite.

  4. Farage professes to be a "student of History" which means all his fascist overtones are by choice, not by accident.
He saw History, he saw the misery and violence and thought "yes, I want that for everyone"

  5. Imagine being so fucking racist, you'd Protest Vote for a traitor who will sell out this country to Russia and America.

How many Russian assets are in the House of Lords btw?

  6. A trumpian fascist, and no real opposition to speak of.

This is a man who constantly bad mouths the UK, and now is berating us for not having 'optimism'

Mr Brexit here, with the 'opitmism'

But he's a Protest Vote and will probably win big at the next election, the Protest Voters having no trouble with the Trumpian fascist rhetorical ("but I'm not a racist, don't call me that, that's so bad")

  7. "I'll Protest Vote for ReformUK to teach the Duopoly a lesson. I am smart, other people's pain is fine to me, I'm a good person"

    Fuck off

  8. @jaykuo does NOT change the fact that some D voters decided that a "protest vote" or a protest NOT VOTING would do anything other than hurt all of us.

We know what the #MAGAts would do, but I will never ever again forgive a protest voter for third party, as long as I live in the US.

"According to exit polls...36% of unaffiliated voters chose Ishimaru, compared with 32% for Koike"
    "Renho...seen as Koike’s main rival...gained support from only 16%"
"Over 40% of voters in their teens or 20s picked Ishimaru"

  12. This is the #Michigan #primary data I’m looking at:

The #Biden / #Trump side by side comparison.

So far, with a smaller percentage of Democratic votes counted, Biden is beating Trump, even w/ the #uncommitted #ProtestVote.

Biden has 89,813 votes w/ 12.38% of the vote counted.

Trump has 89,708 votes w/ 12.61% of the vote counted.

Assume conservatively that in the general election Biden gets at least 50% of those uncommitted votes.

  13. #Biden opens w/huge lead in #DemocraticPrimary in early results

#POTUS Joe Biden was leading #Michigan's Democratic presidential primary contest Tues, as expected, w/the #ProtestVote against him pulling about 7% of the tally.

Biden had 88% of the vote, followed by 7% #uncommitted, 2% for Minnesota US Rep Dean Phillips & 2.4% for self-help guru Marianne Williamson, with 3% of precincts reporting.

  14. Fact 5: Support for #Brexit collapsed quickly after the #EUReferendum.

The protest vote that drove #Brexit (which is the vote that matters) collapsed in a very predictable fashion almost immediately after the #EUReferendum

I wrote a paper about this: Who is NOT voting for #Brexit anymore...

    tinyurl.com/45bz4tz8

The biggest declines in #Brexit support were coming from the places where the #ProtestVote was highest... not surprisingly.

  15. Now there is this interesting group of #Leave voters who disproportionately express #Regret #Bregret among those who did not expect #Leave to win (i.e. those that thought chances of Leave victory were low).

My interpretation is that these are basically people who thought "their vote doesnt matter" but "wanted to send a message".

Some would call this a good definition of a #protestvote.

If this group had not voted or not "protested", #Remain would have won.

    Its the "ridiculous" #Brexit.

  16. #Brexit is and has always been a #ProtestVote...

Thats why public support for it is collapsing.

The demographic that swung the vote -- protest voters -- were never ideologically married to the idea of Brexit.

But of course, a lot of noise was out there over the past years that have tried to convince folks of another narrative...

But eventually the evidence and data will break through the distracting narratives...

  17. Freedom of movement #FOM

Allegedly the stumbling block and something that #KeirStarmer is also still quite unsure of. It is a freedom that goes both ways.

Now, in 2018, even in the strongest #Leave supporting areas, support for Freedom of Movement was well above 70%, on average.

This suggests that FoM was not as much of a controversial issue across the Leave/Remain spectrum.

And that is not surprising, because many #Leave voters were #ProtestVote's.

  18. Large swings in support for #RejoinEU? This is nothing new: support for #Brexit collapsed quickly after the #EUReferendum.

Biggest drops in Leave support are driven by places where the #austerity induced #ProtestVote was highest..

  21. Just #ProtestVote - a vote for any opposition party is a vote against the government and an act of protest on the public record. Shake their confidence.

    RT @[email protected]

Let's send Boris Johnson, Rishi Sunak and Priti Patel a message on May 5th that we stand against all of their corrupt, backwards, hostile, disgusting laws and policies.

    No more.

    RT @[email protected]

If for no other reason, register to vote.

    And then actually vote.

Vote tactically to maximise how much it hurts Johnson.

Show them how angry you are. Show them this isn't acceptable. Make it count.

  23. Don't forget that a #ProtestVote is on the public record and politicians of all hues notice them. Just get out and vote for someone! Apathy kills democracy.

@[email protected] Erm not applicable for me. Opposition is Lib Dem who will finish a distant 2nd. However all you marginal swing polling areas do your research and give this Crime Minister a virtual bloody nose.
