@oliverdarcy FFS instead of covering which actors support Biden, maybe devote some attn to the generals, cabinet members, and WH staffers from trump’s admin (including his own VP!) who won’t endorse him or who actually oppose him as the dangerous would-be autocrat that he is. Stop contributing to the destruction of #democracy - if not for us, then do it for your job (which you will no longer have if trump is elected).

The sitting President does not reflect many of my ideals but, "That's okay". I am so constantly told to compromise those ideals and think about those I care about.
“You have marginalized loved ones, don't you?”
Yes, and does the President not know this? Do they not value the lives of their electorate?
If so, why aren't they doing a better job making themselves a more appealing candidate and protector of the American Dream???
Why is the onus on We the People to apply game theory, to make the most rational decisions toward life-or-death stakes, for those we hold dear?
Why does it feel that burden is disproportionately placed on the electorate and so much less so on the person who dared speak on behalf of the electorate?

The Supreme Court may have elevated the President above the law, but We the People seem to have elevated the President above moral reproach.
We have placed their office above the question of compromising on the ideals they hold dear to their heart to better ensure the preservation of democratic rule in the United States.
Today, the Office of the President has been granted gross, overwhelming powers, and they do nothing to neither stymie the unfit branch of government that granted them nor wield them more decisively to prevent future abuses of these powers.
Such would be a rational and reasonable flex of their executive authority in Our moment of crisis.
That they do not do so out of respect for tradition feels as if they do not fully appreciate the gravity of the stakes at play, because the bad guys won't share their sentiments.

Few things feel more defeating than sharing how fed up I am with the President of the United States and getting some canned response about how none of that matters and that the only practical thing to do is vote for them.
“This isn't about your ideals at this point; it's about maintaining power. If you don't vote for them, the bad guys will win.”
“It's basic game theory.”
That latter bit-- I'm so tired of getting told that line because I already know that. You know who doesn't?
