Found a TV clip from 1965 of the ending song. I love the horrified expression on the singer’s face when she gets to the chorus and starts describing the black flies.

I really feel like this movie is a love story to my homeland.
Everywhere in the wilderness in Northern Ontario is a violent nature - you can be killed by the bears, the moose, the rapids, the hunters, the cold, the black flies, even an undead man child looking for his talisman.
And it's just nature, it's just violent. It's not personal.

With the mask, he kind of looks like he shambled into this movie from Mad God, and no wonder he's a serial killer after that.
