Underground rock icon deaths apparently come in trios the same way celebrity deaths do. I have complex and sometimes contradictory opinions about the way community radio DJs ought to honor the passing of departed kingpins, but I am definitely not a fan of on-air histrionics or elaborate "career retrospective" programs. Toasting their achievements, huddling with the people you love, and having a quick smoke in the alley outside the funeral home is more my speed, so that'll be the plan for tonight's edition of the Hotwire Mandate.
